Laptop Gamers

Anyone here play games (or try) on your laptop? For me, it's my only choice and it's the worst thing to ever play games with. What sort of games do you play on your laptop and at what graphics settings?

Starcraft 2 , Medium for all except for cinematics and things of similar function
As well as a bunch of old - 2010 games

I often use my Lappie for Gaming, but the lighter titles like MMOs (WoW, Champions).
MINECRAFT All the way on my Lappie and then of course PopCapTitles like Plants vs Zombies.

I use my main PC for the AAA Titles :)

I don't know about that, I can play on one of the Drone Laptops at home as well, and that cost all of 4800 Bucks
Acer Emachine 720
Core i5 CPU, 4 GB DDR 3 Ram, 500 GB HDD and a ATi 5470 GFX Card
Runs pretty much everything on par with a standard desktop, but obviously not as well as the Alienware I was referring to above

Where do you get such a good laptop like that for R4800?

What graphics cards do your laptops run with?

It was a release special for that specific model from Acer :)
And as stated that mid level laptop runs a 5470 ATi, the Alienware has a 5890

Yoh, so seems like the hardware on Laptops have improved a lot. will have to check this out myself. always believed desktop is the best option

Don't get me wrong, there are still major advantages to having a Dekstop, especially if you take into consideration what high end laptops cost

my laptop is pretty old now about 4 years old, celeron m 1.6, 512 ddr 2 ram, intel gma graphics, but it does play half life 2 , portal, CS source, fifa 09, unreal tournament 2004 etc. on low to medium settings. but since i game 90% of the time on the pc, 360 and *cough* wii i rarely play on the lappy (usually only when im out and bored)

Does anyone play games with the integrated graphics (i.e Intel Cards)?

The graphics card in my laptop is an Intel HD Graphics...it's rubbish, really rubbish. I can play FIFA 11 on medium graphics

AMD's llano chipset will have some higher end amd cards for laptops.

There are modded drivers for some intel graphics solutions.

I have tried low graphics games on my laptop, but it just didn't feel the same. Probably not the best laptop specs to be trying any type of gaming on.

i imported a asus g51vx-rx05 from the states the other day as, g73 is to exspensive and we only get the a1 models with the bags etc, way out of my price range.

pretty decent rig for 2009 model laptop.
core 2 duo 2ghz that i overclocked to 2.5ghz
4gig ddr2
320gb 7200rpm + space for another one
gtx 260m ( like desktop 9800gt just tad declocked)

bc2 and blackops only game dipping into 20 fps, rest plays fine or games i did test.

cpu is holding back the laptop, heard 3ghz core 2 duo , is what needed for bc2.

screen quality does look bit weak to my 23 inch as res is only 1366x768, so i will keep gaming on my desktop, though main purpose was to take it to lans :)

P.s total cost was 5.3k

4k from ebay user for laptop to usa.

used borderlinx.com to ship to s.a, 1.3k express shipping and taxes.

for price it is a awesome laptop :)

I have an Asus 1215B netbook (AMD E350 CPU 1.6 GHz , 2GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 6310):
BFBC2 and TF2 are unplayable (for the most part) on my netbook so i play Battlefield Play4Free (on low settings), Starcraft 2 (on low settings) and Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 Demo.
Would be interested in hearing about any other low resource-needy games...
