Laptop Gamers

it depends on which integrated graphics you have... but teknogods is a good place to troll for them.

Looked there. Very interesting site..unfortunately they only have mods for the 32bit version and I run 64bit. I also don't know if the 4500M mod will work for my card the 4500MHD..

this is actually a really cool topic. do you guys know of any local places where you can select your own components and they build the laptop for you. Is that even possible or if you want a lappie must you settle for a pre-build thing?

My fiancee plays DAoC on her laptop quite nicely, it's not bad at all. Err will have ot ask what laptop it is though, really can't remember.

My laptop isnt the best but I manage to play quite a few new games on it, not exact perfectly or on max settings but it gets the job done!

I dint have a desktop pc.. I use my laptop for all my games.. I'd say my pc is pretty capable..:) Haven't ha any trouble with any games so far..:D *touches wood* All on low-medium settings tho..:)

I play on my laptop all PC games. Mostly set to low or medium on everything. Never played anything on highest setting. But I have a PS3 for gaming also.

I do all my PC gaming on my laptop. I have a Dell XPS 17: i7 740Q, 4gb RAM (upgradeable to 16gb), GeForce 445M 3gb RAM. So far so good. Everything I've thrown at it so far works great. :) The machine would have been a beast if it had a really high-end GPU but oh well, not the end of the world. For 10k it was a bargain :)

That laptop is better than my pc :O

I Have played all the old games on max settings like Guildwars, WoW, NFS World & Starcraft 2 and Diablo 2. Haven't got any recent games to test the graphics card.

I have a Dell Vostro 1700 that's about 4 years old, but I upgraded everything to the max when I bought it - it still runs everything I throw at it pretty well. Always go for the top of the range laptop when you buy a new one, it'll last much longer than these entry level crap machines which needs replacing every 2 years, and you'll keep your natural hair colour for much longer :D

i only play on my laptop, i have to. the kids hog the desktop. most games have been ok, but it's not perfect

If you've got an older laptop with a graphics card, most games except FPS games are playable.

If you've got any laptop with onboard graphics, your computer should manage to run dosbox

a laptop can do the job but is now where near as good as a desktop, but sc2 on the laptop is a decent option. :)

Things is, you got to manually adjust a laptop for gaming. Like you have to set how much processor power and if you are using wireless, you got to set that to maximum performance as well. The default settings should be the Energy star compliant stuff or manufacturer specific settings. You should change those settings if you want a good experience.

I intend to invest in a lekker lappie next year, if I move to South Korea. Electronics are much cheaper there if I am to believe what some of my friends say. My one requisite is that it is able to run D3 maxed at a stable 30fps. So much want
