Lara's She's Back and hotter than ever... New Trailer

Yeah saw this trailer, earlier, looks really nice. Looks like Square Enix is throwing a lot of money at this project.
 
I hope this is good. I really love tomb raider games. except angel of darkness:p

i heard tell they are really pulling out all the stops with this.

The game begins with Croft devoid of any weapons, tools or essentials such as food and water, which the player must search for in order to survive.[5] Sections of the island are restricted to the player until Lara is able to perform specific physical abilities achieved via a "skill system", or obtained the necessary equipment to advance.[6] At frequent base camps throughout the world, the player can combine pick-ups to create new items, improve Lara's abilities and/or fast travel to previously discovered base camps to avoid copious amounts of backtracking.[5] There is a "much larger emphasis" on combat, as instead of using a lock-on aiming system akin to previous Tomb Raiders this game will employ a manual "free aim" mechanic.[6]
The game introduces a "survival instinct" that Lara can use to solve puzzles. It will highlight useful items for use if the player is stuck in solving a puzzle. However, Lara can only do this while standing still. Some elements of the world crumble when Lara stands on them for too long. When the player jumps to grab a ledge, Lara will no longer magnetize to the nearest ledge like in the previous instalments. The player will also be able to change direction mid-air. Puzzles will be more complex than previous titles, it will use elements of fire, water, wind, and friction. Helping hands and UI will be kept to a minimum, except for indications of burnable objects, health items, and during quick time events.

This is going to be epic , she is the reason most of got hooked on games ,and I think crystal did an Amazing job on the last 2 ,and square enix are dam good at animation ,so I know this will look good too

I agree, tomb raider has been much of the same since it came out in the 90's all they did was add new graphics and increase the pollycount on Lara's face and body. (which over time became a good thing)
 
Cannot wait !!!

I've been a long time fan of the series (Since it's inception) and have bought and will continue to buy all the TR games! Tomb Raider (Original one) was the first game I ever played. I think the series peaked at Legend (Favourite TR to date) and I loved the fact that they revamped the first TR in Anniversary! But to me, Underworld, was a bit of a let down. It just didn't fit all that well. At least we got to see what happened to her mother!

Love the fact that they'r revamping the series, hopefully (I'm sure though) we'll get an engaging narrative this time, and the sound of the free roam is just awesome!

This is my most anticipated game of E3 !


Plus the new Lara is hotter than ever :love:!! I've had a cyber crush on this chick since Legend :D!!
 
Cannot wait for this one! Played the first one back in 96 and every one since then, with the excepption of AOD and will definitely give this a go...
 
Did anyone else notice Lara's iPod/Smartphone she's listening music with? I thought this was supposed to happen way back when?

Yeah the same, love the series, Underworld a bit disappointing, but will get this for sure. I cant wait, Im not one to get too hyped for games. But when it comes to Tomb Raider, I get very excited.

They're reinventing Lara, making her younger and putting her in a more modern world. Hence the modern gadgets :).

Me too hey! I always get psyched when I hear a new TR game is coming out :D! My absolute favourite series :D!!

Well....yes...we hope that Square will be good for more than breathtaking CG cut scenes for this. Like a game that most of us will enjoy playing...though I tried the first game and found that it didn't quite do it for me, female parts notwithstanding. I guess I just didn't have the timing for a game of this nature.

Scratch that - I did enjoy Guardian of Light.

Yowza! Excellent CGI I'll have to admit! :) looks like it's going to be quite a hit, if they think about doing something different to the 'same old'
