I recently got into Last.fm (yes, I know I'm incredibly late to the party). The reason being because it's integrated into Clementine, my new favourite and feature packed music player which I discovered following the demise of Winamp - http://www.clementine-player.org/

It seems one of the fun features is adding friends and seeing their music collections and recommendations, so to that end, anyone who wants to add me is welcome, and this thread can serve for others to share as well.

My username is: HornetZA

I recently started using it as well: Ulvenkai.

I figured it was fun to see what my Spotify listening stat thingies are :D

Oh cool. I'm going to download this Clementine and check it out.

I have recently found a cool online radio app on PS3 which is also cool. It's called TuneIn Radio

Oh cool. I'm liking this ROCKRADIO.com, jumped on the Classic Rock station and it's playing Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused. Don't have a MixFM username so I'll check that out later when I get to registering.

Ya bro, TuneIn Radio is awesome! There is also an android app for it, i use it all the time! Radio 2000 have stopped their live streaming off their website, and now just have a link straight to TuneIn... Great to listen to the cricket!

How envious you made me now being able to use spotify :(

I'll also DL this now and see how it is has there been any new development on the status of Winamp?

Isn't it incredibly annoying not to be able to control it fully though?

I recall it being full of BS in that you can't play specific tracks on demand & can only skip tracks X times etc...

Also - did you use a VPN or how did you get around the restrictions?

If you're referring to Ly, he lives in Sweden now. I'm sure Spotify works just fine there.

Huh? What? Someone call?

I'm sorry :(

It's basically legitimised my *cough* totally legal *cough* music library (I think only about 30-40% of the music on my hard-drive was purchased and the rest of it has been hoarded since my teenage years). I think it's a fantastic way to listen to music, find new artists and really just have an entire library of music at your disposal. Especially for someone who likes music but isn't necessarily the kind of person to ever buy music (read: me). And for 90kr a month it's a steal.

Not sure if this is addressed to me but if it is, you can fully control Spotify (in the sense that you can listen to the same track a billion times, skip as many tracks as you want, save albums as playlists, create your own playlists, star music you like, save music for offline use if you have a premium subscription, etc).

Without a paid subscription you can basically only play music on your PC and you have advertisements between every other song, so it's kind of like a radio. I can't stand ads :p

Spotify also allows you to make use of apps (what I've recently started messing with) with a wide range of features ranging from finding and displaying the lyrics for tracks you're listening to as well as integration with sites like last.fm.

And as for VPN, as czc mentioned, I'm in Sweden and Spotify is Swedish, ergo, no restrictions :p

Only catch is that you can't "download" music as such (like an MP3 or whatever). But you can play your library from your phone with the Spotify app if you have a Premium subscription, so that works equally well and, again, you can download music for offline use onto your phone, just not as an "MP3" as such.

I've been using it for years. The weird part of using it for so long is that I tend to go through phases of listening to a band a lot; right now it's Coheed and Cambria. These phases are very clear on your last.fm page, for instance, Cloud Cult, Ashes Divide and My Morning Jacket are all on my front page!
