Lenovo quality?

Hey Everyone

So for years i recall lenovo products as being junk, but it seems they have come up quite substantially over the years without me noticing, rated 2nd for 2012 top 10 brands just under apple as 1, which technically makes them 1 for non mac

Whats everyone's opinions on the quality and durability of lenovo's notebooks?

I have a 2011 lenovo laptop that I use to backup my stuff & when travelling. So far I have only good things to say about. It has all kinds of fancy features like face recognition (that replaces your password) , a nice metal casing, and an overall good quality components. Mine came with 8gb ram, 500gb HDD , i5 2500 but the onboard gpu might put you off (unless you are not planning to use it for gaming) , but yeah the point is that you get good stuff for a very reasonable price. The power consumption is medium - heavy when watching movies . Trust me , lenovo is far from being junk. From my experience they delivered a high quality product.

Dude, lenovo is the old IBM thinkpad technology - definitely not junk

My 2c, work issued me a Lenovo ThinkPad T410. Overall it's not bad, it has everything I can expect from a laptop. However, in the 20 months that I have had this laptop I have had to replace the HDD 3 times. Each time the disk just starts developing bad sectors and eventually just stops working.
