I was interested to find out how many wow players we have here.

What region/realm do you play on?
Are you in a SA only guild?
What is your progression like?

I'll jump right in.

Realm: Twilight's Hammer EU (Horde)
Guild: Multinational (300+ members)
Progression 7/12 (raiding 3 nights a week)

Update: Progression 9/12
We currently have 3x 10man raid groups and are always looking to recruit exceptional players who enjoy raiding and know their class very well.

Realm: Kul Tiras EU
Guild: Sacred (15 odd members mainly just friends)
Havent started raiding not a serious focus for us since most members are family ppl who doesnt always have the time for raiding.

Band of Comrades (was Chaos Reign, we renamed the guild)
Lightning's Blade(PvP) : Alliance
90% out of 30 or so active players are SAfricans
10man raiding : Omnitron and BHold on farm, getting bent on Magmaaaw.

I've been playing wow since beginning of pre-bc (first for a few months on Blackstorm SA Private server) and then moved to official before opening of AQ40).

In RL I'm from Cape Town, but in WoW I'm from Silvermoon EU.
I'm still very active in the wow community today, 6 years later even, (I moderate for both www.mmowned.com and www.consortium.stormspire.com wow forums) and play my two mains equally: level 85 Prot warrior and level 85 Enh Shaman.

I don't get much time to raid but I do work hard on making gold (reached the old gold cap of 214k) and now working on reaching half a million gold.

TL : DR

Realm: Silvermoon EU (A)
Guild: <Headstrong>, mainly SA and Brits
Progress: BH 10 down lol, not really a raiding guild and I prefer pugging to suit my own schedule.

Realm: Lightbringer (EU-Alliance)
Guild: <Braaivleis> (600 + members 99% SA)
Raiding: Not too sure tbh..I am not really into the raiding scene atm..They have downed Magmaw and are busy with the Omnitron thingy (may have downed that too already)

used to play this for four years, quit just after wotlk arrived. moved onto other mmo's, never touched base till rift...

Realm: Blade's Edge EU - Alliance
Guild: The Saints of Azeroth - Not an SA guild, and I know of only one other Saffer in the guild.
Progression: Don't know. I haven't really paid much attention, mainly because I was leveling my alt that isn't in the guild.

I'm tempted to move my alt to Lightbringer and join Braaivleis.

Realm: Dalvengyr (US)
Guild: Circle of Elders
Composition: Mostly US military personel and RL friends and family of those. I'm one of 4 members in the 125 member guild that isnt US-based.
Raid: I am currently the Progression-raid leader and main-tank; We are 3/4 BoT and working on BWD before we finish off Chogall.

I like my server and love my guildies as if family of my own. I would never transfer or anything of the likes.

And before you ask, my latency is fine.
250-300ms stable.

As always I'm just about ready to come back to WoW. I'll let everyone know once I'm joining but I'm gonna be going solely for PvP purposes with Noone. Welcome to join if anyone likes PvP.

So I'm officially bored...I'm the highest dps in the guild (yes i'm allowed to say that), and am not doing progression. Contemplating a server transfer at the end of the month...any suggestions?

I stopped with PVE before even doing all the dungeons in HC mode. I got 7 or so lvl 359 pve epics, 75k gold in the bank - so no reason to do dailies ... and bored out of my mind. All I do now is pvp now and then. Got about 3200 resilience so it adds a bit of fun. But yeah - I'm done hey. Actually got a copy of D&Donline tonight that I'mma try out.

Agreed, I tried the whole money making side of the game... made 25k in a month. It was a nice change from barely having more than 1k average. I miss how easy it was to pug in Wrath... Cata content is too hard for certain party members and pugs often disband as 1 player dies. As a hunter PVP has been a joke since 3.0, and now with the recent buffs to Aimed Shot Blizzard want to nerf it again...yet they refuse to fix the insanely long list of bugs plaguing hunters around the world.

Extremely poor performance on their part, and since I work with software that also requires constant updating, I understand 110% how frustrating it can be when something broken gets left that way for too long - positive perception of the product falls drastically

My sub ends tomorrow, not sure if it'll be resubbed for a while  With that being said, I had tons of fun in Cata pushing my character to it's highest potential in 2/3 huntard specs :p

Ok seriously, send me the details on how you lot made so much gold - I made about 10k from selling netherweave bags but now the market has gone quiet.

Farming Whiptale herbs got me 5k in one day. I sold a darkmoon deck for 22k and made a mate one for free. Single darkmoon cards for for 1-3.5k each, but honestly not worth making. You could sell the ingredients for more than that. Also selling glyphs for around 100g each and some relics for 1k. But yeah, mostly just selling the herbs I farm. I did it when the rush was active, 1 stack of herbs would go for 200g+ and embersilk stacks for 200-250g. It's quite odd, beforehand I'd never have more than 5k.

Aah see I made some cash on herbs but in the end used them to level my alchemy up. Also used the cloth to level tailoring, then disenchanted the greens to get mats to make enchants. Sold a few of those. But then again Im not one for money making in general. Altho I ripped a fair few ppl off with Fortune Cookies and Fortune cards - on our server they where selling for 45g per card and the cookies for 2k g per stack. Now the cookies dont sell and the cards have dropped to 10 - 20g.

At the moment im sending all my flowers to our scribe since we are making a guild effort to craft the darkmoon cards for everyone. We have half packs of most of the cards by now. The extra's will be sold and the gold shared out between the ppl who farmed flowers.
