"You know, releasing cross-branded products is one thing many companies have done over the years, hoping to get more spotlight for their devices by associating them with a much better-known company. And that's exactly the case with the latest announcement from PC chassis manufacturer Lian Li, which has just introduced a special, red version of its PC-P50R Armorsuit computer case.
According to the Taiwan-based company's statement, the PC-P50R is, in fact, a red color AMD-branded variant of the PC-P50 Mid-tower gaming chassis we talked about a while ago, borrowing all the features that made the aforementioned model a popular one. The case is designed specifically for gaming systems, featuring advanced thermal dynamics and incorporating one fan on the front (1x 120mm@1200RPM), plus dual vibration reduced top mounted fans (2x 140mm@1000RPM) and one rear 120mm@1500RPM extraction fan.
Moreover, the design of the chassis enables users to take full advantage of the 8x PCI expansion slots that enable CrossFireX and Tri-SLI graphic card setups. The chassis front face features 9x 5.25-inch ODD bays, which have filters that are washable and the front panel clips off easily and conveniently.
The top and front panels are clipped via special plastic kits that reduce metal on metal contact wear, as well as prevent vibration. The red parts are individually anodized before assembly to ensure a quality look and feel.
In fact, the entire chassis, starting with HDD bays and ending with the PSU clip, is designed for tool-less implementation, so installing the hardware and getting the system up and running is extremely quick and easy. Plus, the PSU has an advanced flame-retardant vent built into the bottom of the chassis, which prevents the possibility of heat and flames from exiting your case via the vent should something catastrophic like a short circuit occur to your PSU or other equipment inside.
The AMD-Branded Armorsuit PC-P50R computer case from Lian Li 240 will retail for around 240 US dollars, which, by all accounts, is a fairly high price point, but consistent with the average pricing of other gaming-oriented products of this type available on the market."
