It looks like China will have to wait a little bit longer to take on Arthas and his legion of Undead. According to a report noted by J.L. McGregor, Blizzard's Chinese distribution partner The9 has had its application to release Wrath of the Lich King denied by Chinese censors. According to the report, the reasons cited for the denial include a city raid with skeletal characters. The version submitted for approval also lacks the new Death Knight class.

That is quite interesting to read, it must be quite a nail for Blizzard as well as they have a very big user base there.

I wonder if they will make changes to the name or game to facilitate that market. I think the user base justifies a change.

Yes, they are deeply involved culturally with their forefathers and the spirits of the dead. They frown upon disrespecting the dead / spirits or even depicting it in certain ways.
It is not just unlucky but in some ways the rule of law.
You must remember, the Chinese is very much a culture based, and built, on hundreds of years of History.

In fact, something interesting - in death they don't consider people to die (like we do), they are separated from the living, i.e. a 'ghost' / spirit.
