Lingerie Football League game in the pipe

Whoops, sorry - THQ publishing was conjecture in a discussion our side, which I misheard as fact.

We expect it to be THQ, but it's not confirmed yet.

And they chirp video games about how women are portrayed. Lingerie Football, like are you even being serious right now. :wtf:

Before we all get our lacy knickers in a knot here, let's remember that the issue should be with the sport of lingerie football, not the fact that someone turned it into a game.

This is at the same level of stupidity as blaming Smith & Wesson for killing people.

I think everyone is pretty much flabbergasted by the fact that this "Sport" exists more than the fact that some one who hasn't been online an a while wants to turn it into a game.

Sure, but as per usual the issue is only brought to light when gaming gets involved and ultimately blamed.

Sigh. All we need after the booth babe/Tomb Raider rape/Hitman nuns fiasco is another "gamers are sexist" tirade.

So we need to sweep it under the carpet and press our fingers in our ears while whistling the Super Mario tune, Dan?

There is an issue with sexism and the idea that gaming is a boys' hobby in the gaming industry. Drawing attention to this is EXACTLY what the industry needs.

Attention to what? It's a licensed game made about about a ridiculous sport. Not sure what they has to do with the gaming industry. Not every event needs to be some kind of 'issue'.

When you're finished pouting after the last fight you picked and lost, kindly show me where I said we should ignore this issue, paraphrased or otherwise.

If you read really carefully you'll discover my previous post was about the ridiculousness of the gaming industry being blamed for something that's entirely unrelated to gaming. (See dictionary definition of 'tirade' if you're unsure.)

At no point did I say we should ignore the issue. In fact, I seem to remember saying it should be made an issue:

the issue should be with the sport of lingerie football

You are aware that in the last 'fight', I didn't even bother reading your last PM, right? Because arguing with you was pointless. As much as you like to claim people are looking at stuff from only one side, you're still the most one-dimensional journalist on this site. I'm glad to hear I 'lost' a fight on my opinion about how MyGaming handles issues of discrimination, though. :)

(for those not in the loop, I was debating MyGaming's choice to leave a post in a thread where a user basically called homosexuals sexual deviants/perverts, but decided to delete the post calling that user out on being a *normal profane word that for some reason makes Omega and Dan weep delicious tears of agony*)

No, I was referring to the way in which you referred to the following issues;

Sigh. All we need after the booth babe/Tomb Raider rape/Hitman nuns fiasco is another "gamers are sexist" tirade.

Regardless, my point stands. There is an issue with sexism in the industry as a whole. It needs to be addressed. Just because a game is based on something that actually exists, doesn't make it any better. It doesn't excuse the game developers from developing the game either. I can guarantee you if it was called Woman's Football League, the sport wouldn't even exist, and much less would the developer be trying to cash in on something that's designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Sex sells.

It is being addressed, it is no longer the case that when something like this shows up that everybody just goes "OMG BOOBS!" and forgets about the issue, sure those reactions still exist but they are no longer the only ones.

As for "the word" I find it funny that you get your tights in a bunch every time sexuality or sexual discrimination is mentioned but you had no issue using that derogatory word.
