Linux the future of gaming, Steambox imminent, says Gabe Newell

Hopefully Gabe and other established developers can get AMD and Nvidia to pay more attention to their Linux drivers.

While I harbour no delusions, I'm also really hoping for decent free software alternatives to the proprietary blobs they push out.
 
This might take off but i don't think it will replace pc gaming in anyway, its just going to become another console.

Now if they develop a decent keyboard and mouse or something similar that you can use from your couch for the steam box this might get very interesting.

No its because users that have used Proprietary software for years aka:windows don't know how Linux works, sure the lack of games plays a role but even if you port them all over its still going to be a niche market

At the moment I can't picture it. Linux is something for people who like to fool around with operating systems.
