Upgrades:
My brother is buying me a Z77-based board up to the value of R2000 for my birthday next month.
[Not easy to source these days, it seems, judging from the amount of time a local shop I contacted is taking to put together a quote for me.]

If one of my lottery tickets land me a fair sum of money, I would look at buying an SSD drive, replacing my Silencio with something more capable of dealing with East London Summers [if only for my own peace of mind...it has not got to the point where my machine shuts down because of overheating] I would consider a Corsair case like the one my friend has. Tempted as I am to replace my 7790 with a 256 bit nVidia card, I would want to do research into whether what I currently have is good enough for the sort of games I play.
Frankly, I don't see the need for a CPU switch any time soon, and that would necessitate the purchase of a new motherboard.

It isn't often that I admit this, but my computer is adequate for what I do. I'm likely to reconsider when a future iteration of Dragon Age or The Witcher plays like a slide show. That strikes me as sensible in my case.

Oh; what is end goal of the research ?

what do you do for a living that you can afford these simple kak expensive upgrades? 0.o

Audit Manager.

Why not water cool the GPUs?

The current ones? Even with a huge OC, they won't touch the aircooled, OCed 780tis. So yeah, might wait for the next big cards from Nvidia, upgrade to those and then WC them.

I'd need to get another rad for my loop, as well, though.
