Has anyone got one of these, I'm thinking about getting a proper Gaming keyboard and the colour LCD looks cool. How useful is the LCD display.
Is it worth the R2K or just way too gimicky?
 
I think it's not worth it to spend the extra R1k just for the colcor lcd. It looks cool but ya not worth it. Rather spend that money elsewhere. A few place you can spend it: Mouse, gPU, CPU, Sound card, etc. Or you can save the money for your next gaming pc. R2k is alot of money.
 
Nah, definitely falls into the "cool-but-gimmicky" category. Didn't even use the LCD on my G15 after a few months. I'd rather spend money on something like the Razer Arctosa/Lycosa (depending on if you want lights or not) and then spend the extra like R1200 on another hdd or something similarly useful. R2000 for a keyboard is frankly ridiculous and completely unjustifiable, even for someone like myself...
 
Unless the lcd improves your accuracy by emitting some weird radiation, i think you're better off buying a better mouse to complement a cheaper keyboard
 
Steel Series Merc Stealth is alot better keyboard for Gaming And it serves well in FPS type games and also MMOS, got Illuminated Keys and works fast and is alot cheaper, yo dont need the LCD thing to be honest.

estimated retail price about R800 or so.

I would agree 100% with you, but I bought a Razor Mamba....so my opinion doesn't hold water in cases like this lol

Had one and took it back and got a G15, typing on the Merc is pathetic not to mention you have your home, insert, del keys bundled into your numpad. Wouldn't recommend it.
 
Iv'e been using a Merc Stealth for over a year now, will be hardpressed to sway to another keyboard unless this one croaks!
