Logitech G35's

Anyone is looking to buy a absolutely sick pair of gaming headphones I would highly recommend the G35's.

Unreal sound, great solid build quality and just overall a great product.

Maybe a little pricey but personally I think it is totally worth the cash. :D

Got them myself and was also blown away. Weird though. PCF only rates it 46%, stating they couldn't get the surround to work. I haven't had the slightest bit of trouble with them, unlike the Razer Megalodon's which gave me endless hassles.

46%? Blasphemy!

The surround sound works pretty amazingly for me! I know there are certain games it apparently doesn't work on, but I don't think that is the fault of the headphones.

Modern Warfare 2 is simply epic with the headphones. I can hear absolutely everything and from every direction.

Yeah, it's in the latest issue, they have this headset roundup. Works perfectly in my COD4, Batman, MW2, Dragon Age, Torchlight, World at War and that's about what I have installed right now. Lol, I just sometimes press the wrong G key and then I sound like a beaver over TS. Funny the first few times, but now my team mates just swear at me :/

ROFL, I haven't tried the voice morph function yet.

I have had a few headsets in the past, but these without a doubt are the best I have used.

Great all we need is bunch of chipmunks playing COD. :D
A buddy of mine has the same pair, PCF's review was total bollocks- Logitech's products are generally awesome, great speakers too.

PCF's review regime sucks to be quite honest. they use one game. Half-Life 2.

now i'm sorry it might've been good a few years back but to be honest it's not the best game to test things in now and for a proper review you need a spread of games. so their "reviews" are pretty much null and farkin void

Yeah that is just daft.

I would give R1000 to anyone who GENUINELY wasn't impressed with the sound quality of these cans. :p

(I would then recommend they use the R1000 for hearing tests) :D

I love my g-35's very awesome. i bought mine based off of 3 different reviews on the net and Maplassies advice on the subject seeing as he used them before and and now has a Kave.

to quote him "Die g35's is donders nice"

Yes he prefers the Kave but that said g35's are a good choice if you cannot get those others :D

Yeah I read a lot of reviews and 99% were very positive. The negatives reviewers had with these cans I still can't pick up

The Kaves sound like great value for money, assuming you can find a pair.

Personally I love Logitech's stuff so the extra R200 - R300 is worth it.

Yes, I'm a logitech fanboi of late :) Got the keyboard, the mouse, the headset, the speakers and a webcam lol.

Ja as I said, If the kave's didn't exist, I would have G35's they are brilliant.

You can't go wrong with Kave or G35 :)

Quality Surround Headsets FTW

In case you guys didn't know, the Logitech G35 headphones are technically just a pair of stereo headphones with an integrated (and partially proprietary in implementation) Dolby Headphone decoder in them.

Personally, I'd rather get another pair of R200 Teac headphones the like I have now and get myself a proper A/V receiver with Dolby Digital Decoding, including Dolby Headphone (read: even the cheapest ones these days have at least the default sound-stage for Dolby Headphone), and know that I can not only connect any pair of headphones I want to it, but also speakers, and a few pairs of headphones if I wanted so a few people could benefit, AND get to use the whole setup on a console as well as DVD/Blu-Ray player and PC.

Saw one of these little guys while I was in Japan in 2008 - would have brought one back had I not bought a monitor a week before seeing it :(

Cost roughly R1.5k while I was there for the first 1k units being sold per Yodobashi Kamera store, since it was just being launched. Retails now for around R1.8k, but don't ask me how much it would cost to get it imported (5kg, it and its box are really small though, footprint is only slightly larger than an external DVD-drive).

35watt per channel for 5.1, 60watt for the subwoofer channel with a sub pre-amp output option if you want to connect a powered subwoofer.

"True" surround sound does not work on headphones look at the Razers they have tried this with their barracudas and magaladons and their sound quality is very poor never mind their poor build quality. The best headset is the Sennheisers which not many people will dispute and they have stayed away from surround sound and just used stereo. However pair them with a decent sound card and you will be amazed that they aren't.
