Logitech G430 Headset

hey guys I'm looking at buying my first ever decent headphones for gaming, I have a 5.1 logitek setup but need a set of cans for the evenings now and then.

so what do you guys use around here stereo or surround and what are your opinions concerning the different options, also i wear glasses and I'm concerned is going to mess around or hurt me.

I'm looking at spending max R1000, R800 or so would be preferable.

As i stated before i have been using them for several years now... No issues, you can use them as speakers (let them sit around your neck), good quality noise-canceling mic, very comfortable (for long hours of gaming), good sound quality, bass vibration :D, over ear and fanastic virtual 7.1 for sound whoring ;)

I would not call them a beginner headset, i play very competitively and if they were not good enough i would have discarded them years ago...

The Genius Cavimanus and the Somik G909 are the same, but I think they are available in different colours if you get the G909. Get whatever is cheaper :D. However you could get a cheap headset with 40mm drivers and use software like Razer Suround to make the virtual 7.1. I am not sure what the sound quality is like, but hey?

Check these out: (Pretty cheap :p)

I will be grabbing a pair of these for some competitions and LANs (Like OC) as I prefer studio headphones for general computing, music and videos...and have a 5.1 settup at my house (Snap).

What studio headphones are you using? What soundcard are you running them through?

Only problem with the ATH-M50s is the ear cups...
The material that they are made from disintegrates relatively quickly and leaves pieces everywhere :P

I have worked with these before:

Good comfort, superb sound and cups don't break, however they are not amazingly comfortable in the 5 hours or more run :D

Can't go wrong with Rolands!

I'm using a Beyerdynamic DT 770 for my music and movies and just ordered a pair of Roland SRH 840s!

Friend gave me a Macbook Pro which I'm selling so I am swimming in the dolla!

The ATH M50s are rated the absolute best headphones on the market in that price range. The ear cups haven't broken on every reviewer I have watched, and they have had theirs for years.
