Just wondered if anyone had any experience with logitech gaming keyboards? mainly the g510?
I'm in the market for a new keyboard and this one has peaked my interest.
Any other keyboards anyone could recommend??

I have never used a Logitech gaming keyboard, but I have been using a Logitech multimedia keyboard for around 5 years, and the thing is still going strong (the W and key sometimes requires a bit of extra force though). It is a fantastic keyboard that I paid R400 for and I love it. A friend of mine uses a Logiteh G19, and although it's a great gaming keyboard, he doesn't use a lot of the bells and whistles that are included, so he probably could have gotten away with cheaper board.

I think Logitech is a great, reliable brand. I recommend their keyboards. How much you want to spend depends on how much you will use extra features like LCDs and macro keys.

I was interested in the g510 mainly for the amount of macro keys which would be extremely helpful in certain games. and I thought the screen would be pretty helpful when using team-speak and monitoring system temperatures and such.

Logitech boards are decent and good quality but I would pass on the G510, the current price is a joke considering its a plain dome keyboard. You can get some really nice mech board for a little bit more cash.

That corsair k90 does look good though, but I saw on their site there's a K95 model? full mechanical. anyone know when that's arriving in SA?

Oh and do mechanical keyboards make a huge difference?

The build quality of the K90 was poor, I've had a few clients that have found the feet broke off like nothing so I would avoid them.
The K95 will probably be available in the next few weeks.

Mech board def make a difference, it feels much better and more crisp when typing. If you spend a lot of time in front of your pc, you game a lot and you type a lot then I would say a mech board is a must.

Well i'll wait a few weeks then and see what the pricing on that k95 is then.

What about Razer keyboards? I've always noticed their products to be hit or miss

The wireless logitech multimedia keyboard is amazing same with the mouse I got in the combo for R350, K260 and M210 you cant go wrong with logitech :D.

In my gaming all I use is hotkeys and 1-10

I've always quite liked Logitech's peripherals in general, but I haven't tried any of their gaming keyboards.

Consider looking at Roccat as well. I've got a Kave and it's brillopads. G510 is a very good keyboard but perhaps not quite worth the money they ask for it, since it's verging on mech territory as others are saying here, where there's a huge leap of quality immediately. A CM Storm Quickfire Rapid for instance would cost less and outperform any membrane keyboard.

I have the G15 and a G19. I spilled whiskey over the G19 (yes I know, alcoholics anonymous is near me and all of that) and now three of it's keys don't work (I've opened it around five times to clean it out and still the same problems persist). I love my G15 however the G19 was much more colourful...but at it's current price I'll just keep the non-working one in storage (anyone wanna buy a mint G19 for say...R1200? lol - just joking...it's screwd).

That must have been plenty of whiskey since the keyboard is spill proof

Around half a glass I guess (I drink it from a beer glass...it lasts longer!). Either way I'm still sad about the incident...keep the liquids AWAY from the keyboard.

I always have a huge room around my wireless keyboard/mouse so I can keep my drink safely on the same table :D

I've got the K90 and hope I can find a buyer once that K95 becomes available. Love this keyboard to bits, but the non-mechanical keys are beyond disappointing, they feel terrible. Really sleek keyboard, backlights great, so many macros, volume control, USB port at the back. I'd wait for the K95 if that's possible.

The Kave is the headphones, did you perhaps mean something else? I've got the Isku, and I love the thing, absolutely brilliant kb. I'd love to hear feedback on others in the Roccat stable.

I no longer feel any guilt over my whiskey drinking. Yeah, a crystal whiskey tumbler is supposedly critical to its taste and all that, but I've yet to notice the difference between the said tumbler and a beer mug :D

Not wanting to derail the thread but love the look of the K95 (never heard of it until now):
