Logitech releases new peripherals

The headset is going to have crappy sound as they are again making the mistake of surround sound. Manufactures need to learn one simple thing: Surround Sound does not work with headphones Anyway looks like the G15 v3 and the mouse looks like a G7. Really just seems like and upgrade on current parts rather then new ideas.
 
I like the keyboard and might end up sneaking it in with my upgrade :) I don't think the Razer Mamba has competition from the mouse...I own the Mamba mouse and, though it's gob-smackingly expensive, it's truly the best mouse I've ever worked with and I don't see a logitech product intruding on this model, yet.

I own the headset mentioned, albeit the normal wired one and I love them. The only two headsets worth considering if you are looking in the R1000 price range is either the G35 or the Roccatts. Both awesome and excellent sound. The G35 won me over with the USB connection. Works much easier and nice long cord.
 
i have the g35's and the surround works quite well thanks. sure it's emulated but sounds flipping awesome

as for the keyboard. the day my g15 dies i'll get that

James, opinionated as usual ;) have you ever actually tested the Roccat True Surround Headset?
They deliver exactly what they are supposed to, not the vitual emulated hollowed out sound of stereo headphones using a virtual surround system

I obviously have not tried all surround sound headphones but I used to own the razer ones which were rated as one of the best surround sound headphones. The build quality of them was shocking but that isn't really the point. The sound in game was poor and extremely tinny. You could see this was even worse when you used them to listen to something that was a game like a movie or music. Most of the time I set the drivers to use it as a normal stereo headset as the sound quality was better then. Also bear in mind that I used them with the recommended razer sound card, so I was meant to be getting the best they could offer.
The other reason I say that surround sound doesn't work is because if you look at the best gaming headsets like the Seinheisser PC350 and PC360 and the Steel Series 7H and 5H and they have all stayed away from the true surround sound. Most manufactures have stayed away from it as they realise the sound quality produce is poor. The only time the sound quality is passable is in games and as the quality of the sound doesn't matter as much.
Also the stereo headphone I have tried do not in anyway make a "virtual emulated hollowed out sound" They give a far better and move realistic sound. If you want surround sound get speakers in my opinion.
So I do like having an opinion but I don't just have one for no reason :) I might I might be right but either way this is my reasoning.

You should really, REALLY go test a pair of Roccat's, they are in my opinion way ahead of the curve for true surround sound
Movies, although I have a proper set of Digital Speakers to watch those on are fair sounding, in game they provide the same positional Audio one would expect form top of the range headphones.
Orb and myself used to play "Sonar" for ATF in clannies, the only two guys who could hear through walls :)
He uses a pair of Sennheizers, I use the Roccat's

Why I think you should test them though, for the price tag, compared to the other manufacturers current offerings, I still think it can't be beat currently
 
I actually would love to test the roccats but not going to pay R800 just try a pair unfortunately :( However they are cheaper then then other headphones so in that respect they are a good choice. The Logitech G35's are R1200 and you are forced to use the crappy integrated sound card on them. Issue with Sennheisers is that they are destroying the market for them in South Africa by charging double what they cost overseas. eg. R1200 for PC350 on Amazon vs R2500 for PC350 at prophecy (and that is on special) Anyway I am going to be staying far away from Razer as I have only heard bad things about their headphones and have had bad experience with 2 of their headsets.
Also till I get proven wrong on the whole I believe that surround sound does not work with headsets might work if you are just using them for gaming.
