Logitech reveals new Orion Spark gaming keyboard

Really keen to take their mechanical switches for a spin, but dropping that much money on a keyboard? Ouch.

I also never end up using all the fancy features of a keyboard (unless it has a hardware disable for the Windows key). Maybe I'm missing out, but I've never used macro keys or anything like that.

Neither have I... I still sit with an el-cheapo Logitech wireless keyboard. Works 100% for me though. I DO however use every single button on my Naga Molten which has about a gazillion buttons (12 thumb-buttons alone). It's a dream in MMOs, but also quite usable in FPS games for switching weapons, knifing, etc...
 
I don't care for the mechanical switches at all, but I am really liking the individually set lighting for each key. I've always wanted a Steelseries Apex because of the 5 different colour zones, but this takes it to a whole new level. I would never pay that much for a keyboard though.

For a keyboard? I mean, I know from experience that cheap peripherals are cheap and break our start wearing out quickly as a result, but chucking 2-and-a-half into one -- meeehhh... I think not. Most I'm prepared to spend on a keyboard, will be, buying a Cooler Master Storm Quickfire Pro.
 
i don't get the hype around uber expensive keyboards. i can understand spending a little bit of dosh on a mouse, as you could feel the difference. but a keyboard? you press a key and it does something. what difference would it make with a R2,500 keyboard ??

perhaps i am bias as I play games with gamepad whenever possible. Even FPS titles :)

Use to buy R30 keyboards and they lasted me about a year or 2 normally replace them once their paint has gone off. Now I have a R1000 keyboard and its just a keyboard at least the paint has not faded in the 2 years time. Waited 3 months for the quickfire but the place just could not get it. ATM got a logitech G110 have not used the G buttons since they are in such a awkward place.
