So sad to hear about this, I'm sure we all know someone who lives in the UK, most probably moved there to get away from this exact thing.

This has no doubt hurt the country especially so close to hosting the Olympics.

Well it has been the worst cases of civil unrest in living memory. But it is very important, and i think this is something that the news doesn't convey, it is only a small minority who are causing this and it is mostly youths which is causing people to ask the hard questions. The incidents in other cities is simple copy cat behavior. Where I live everything is normal and even went to Oxford Circus yesterday and it all was business as usual.
 
Problem is the cops are so soft they don't do anything, they just stand there and stare at a bunch of 14 year olds throwing rocks at them. :rolleyes:

We should send some SAPS okes, those kids will kak themselves.

Yeah its ridiculous...but I did see one cop klap this dude that taunting him.
But geez I can't stand that sort of wishy washy attitute towards criminal bevahiour.

Nope, the cops are soft coz if they do use force, like back during the G20 summits they used force and one officer got charged with attempted Murder. Similarly cops shooting that dude on Thursday was the initial catalyst for this. The whole human rights thing is holding the cops back. I mean they aren't even allowed to use rubber bullets or water cannons due to Ministers not willing to use force.

As for the SAPS guyz... they would be right there looting along with the rest of them.

So what purpose do they serve in these situations? :wtf:

SAPS would get lost on the way to the riots.
 
Finally have access to internet again today. Was reading the Czech papers now. Something I see in the Czech papers and not mentioned in the media here is that that it was a black gang member they were arresting and that they were arresting him because he was caught striping a guy of his jacket in the street.

They really do need to be tougher on the criminals. I suppose they've gone soft.

Yeah the majority of these rioters seems to be black youths, not all though but a large part of them.
 
They should get in some chinese volunteers and impose martial law with an 8pm curfew. Start the culling. Remove the cancers from society.

I actually thing imposing a curfew would make maters worse.
 
As for the riots and the cops being soft, it's a symptom of the world we have created. Politicians won't authorise force, because come next election, they won't get voted back into power. But, when things go pear shaped as is happening in London, people also blame authorities for not getting the situation under control. We are our own worst enemy sometimes!
