"Omslagboor"
"Handdrill"
"Brace and bit"
"Brace"

Still need to hit the streets in search of it but if anyone knows where you could get this would be helpful and narrow our search.

Its for a present, you use it for woodwork power Drills can sometimes slip and yeah make a mess of some wood.

Strange. I've allways had the exact opposite happen to me.

Your trying to work to fast with it. I also heard it has a lot more torque.

Pine is soft. I used a power drill, it slips when you get a bit of grain.

If you're worried about the drill slipping, just use a punch to make a notch for the bit to bite into 1st.

I did that, pine has some harder strips in it that divert the drill anyway.

I agree with czc, for precision drilling a hand drill is still by far the best to use, much easier to control the speed and direction.
