Looking for some must have pc games?

So I finally, after years of consoles, made the switch to pc by getting a decent budget build. Therefore I am wondering what games are must haves. On this steam sale I got both Half lifes, both Portals, the bioshock trilogy, counter strike and mirrors edge seen as I have never played it. I'm pretty open to all genres so any suggestions would be great :)
 

This sums it really nice up for what games are must haves. It has a diversity of games so pick what you find intresting. Ps did you keep your controller to use on the pc?

I would say my personal fav.
Wolfenstein: The New Order (awesome first person shooter)
Saints Row IV (awesome coop game)
Metro Redux Bundle (singleplayer)
Skyrim (singleplayer modible)
Terraria (best played with friends)
Bastion
FTL:Faster than Light awesome yet frustrating game

Thanks so much, will check them out. I do still have my console controller. Want to get Skyrim but its not available on steam due to the whole rand thing or something. I have played bastion and loved it, have you played Transistor? Its also from supergiant
 
Definitely get Ori and the Blind Forest, but it's not a PC exclusive. Consider getting the remastered Homeworld as it was exclusive to PC and it's a gaming experience every PC gamer should have.

Which games did you play on console? All the games you mentioned, sans Counter Strike and Half Life 1, were available on consoles as well...
 
Well thanx to TB video I picked up AC 4 Black Flag, Brutal legend and Anti Chamber. Also picked up some Pinball FX 2 tables I did not have. All for R150, would have gotten *New Order but seeing that Bethesda don't want us to buy games in SA I decided against it.

*I know I can pick it up on Humble Bundle Store for same discount.

I will check Ori and the Blindforest out. I've played the Batman games, Battlefields, crysis and a lot of others... I know most of those have been on console which is why I want to know what good pc games I should get.

Since i saw you got Half Life, did you look into Black Mesa ? It is on special now too...remake of Half Life in progress.

As for another must have:

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines . You can mod it up to pretty solid graphics too, it is usually about $15, but can go as low as $7 on special.

As far as I understand, OP had a console and probably played many of those titles. It's difficult to recommend PC exclusives without them falling in the RTS, TBS or MMORPG genres.

I've played quite a few of those already but definitely will get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as it just has so much more on PC. Will also look at getting the older Fallouts so thanks :)

I have played quite a few of them and see what you mean about RTS and MMORPG. There are also so many more indie titles though which I really want to look into

Played it on my console nut am thinking of getting it just for the mods and also because... Explosions.

Get Oblivion and Skyrim and mod the crap out of it, do the same with Fallout 3 and 4

Mass Effect looks amazing on PC with a high res mod. Just saying.
