Looking to buy new PC

Greetings,

I'm looking at buying myself a new PC that I will of course use for gaming. I'm not looking at forking over a huge amount of cash for something very high end, but I do want something that will comfortably run new and upcoming games.

I'm just looking for the box, thus a store/online store that sells fully-built boxes geared towards gamers at reasonable prices.

Any recommendations? I don't want to have to put anything together myself. I merely want to plug everything in and have it work :D

Buy fast... prices are rising :)

I myself am not a big fan of prebuilt or branded computers because you never know what exactly is put inside (components, brands, quality). I think my suggestion would be to find a computer dealer who builds custom computers rather than going for a branded box like Mecer, HP, etc. I don't know if the online stores or even franchise stores like Incredible, Matrix, etc. do that so you might want to seek out a reputable computer dealer in your area. Keyword here being "reputable" since computer dealers can be just as shaky as used-car salesmen.

You can perhaps just mention what price range you are looking at then people here can just give recommendations on the components you should ask to be included.

Ooh Pryor Computers is very good. Otherwise try Cafe Viva in Claremont. Nice thing is is that they are a walk in shop, very clued up people there and are very well priced for a walk in shop
Pryor Computers are in Lakeside and the guy is super friendly and really does go the extra mile

Cafe Viva prices on some of the computers they offer. You can change things to suit budget/wants.

I have contacts for cheap cheap components (wholesalers. lol. not some dodgey thing. so still waranteed etc.). If you want, I will build you a computer to your spec with windows and everything (As if you bought prebuilt) but you actually get decent products for your money!

PM me your budget and I'll work out the best you can get for that and build it for you for a little extra cash :) Be quick. As someone before me said, Prices are rising!

You wanna send a pre built system down to cape town? Have you seen how Couriers/PO/SS throw around packages?
I build pc's on the side and I can tell you now that is a bad idea.
Either ship parts and assemble it down there or stick to cape town suppliers.

Oh and before anyone rants, I have built pc's for members on this forum, inc some R16 000 rigs. :)

Also sending a fully built pc, that distance will cost a minimum of R700 on top of the price.

I got one of those monster rigs that joker build and its the best system I have ever used by far and as far as value for money there is no competing with what he can source, and the quility but his work is also top notch, I can see many many happy years with my rig :)

Sho. Didn't see the capetown bit :O In that case (har-de-har), build the pc yourself or find a friend who knows what they are doing do it for you... Prebuilt is stupid expensive and usually not the best quality of parts. It is quite simple to build your own rig. I have done +-8 for friends and the only time I had a problem was when there was an out of box failure of a Motherboard. It isn't rocket science. Look up a tutorial with pictures if you are uneasy about it. You really can't fail :) Goodluck and have fun!

www.rampage-gaming.co.za is the best out there. Ask them for quote and they will help you out. Service is good and they have upgrade kits etc

They are far from the best out there.
Ive emailed a couple of times asking about products and not once have I gotten a response.
I deal with all the major suppliers, Yes Rampage gaming prices are good, but service isn't great.

One thing when U have your PC pre-built , in my experience they don't do a good job on overclocking, I made that mistake and ran a i7 @ 80C in prime @ 3.8Ghz. it was stable thou

Prebuild is usually good for warranty though... Usually 3 years when many individual parts are 1 year.
