Looking to upgrade your GPU ?

Flex

Will lift for boobs!
With all the new hardware coming out in a daily basis, you are bound to upgrade sometime or another.
Nothing rolls out faster than GPUs!!!

What was your first GPU that you can remember, what are you currently using and what would be your next GPU?

HERE is a list of the current top 10 GPUs.

Here's my history of graphics cards: Link

Currently not looking to upgrade since I'm quite happy with my 2nd hand 290 - and I'm not likely to have the kind of extra money you need for a GPU these days.

Even the "cheap" GPUs are still expensive yeah!!!!

First GPU? ATI 4670.
Current GPU - 290
Next? Not sure yet.

I'm on a hit one skip one rotation with my GPUs. Currently on a GTX980, Previous was a GTX 750 (SLI). I'll likely skip the 10 series and possibly buy into whatever the next is.

Wonder what will be next after the 10 series. Will you maybe be looking into the new AMDs?
I think from the 980 the 10 series is quite a step up and still maybe worth it. But not from a 980ti just yet imo

The very first Graphics card I bought specifically for gaming was Creative Lab's Graphics Blaster Extreme with 4 whole megs of ram.

What a beast.

The best GPU I currently have in any of my home systems is some Nvidia 9 series gt with 1Gig ram.
It will upgrade when it dies.

Will see how things pan out. I'm not even thinking of upgrading yet. I prefer heavy hitter cards that can give me 3-5 years usable life without the need to OC. MAYBE the AMD stable looks better in 3-5 years, but for now I'm quite comfortable in the green corner.

That's the exact reason why I went from 970 to 1080, and sommer went big with the specific 1080 so that it will last me. But yeah, not overclocking always feels like you make it last so much longer

Yup, the 980 was the big hitter when I upgraded, and I really did not want to wait for the 1080 to launch. I had games to play and the 750s were not doing it for me anymore. But as I said, in 3+ years the landscape might be different. VR is the big question mark for me at this stage. The other big factor is the potential move away from DX to Vulkan.

Things could change for either of the big two depending on where they focus engineering effort.
