Loooooooooool! Mw2 pc price hike

Ag you know what, at the end of the day it's still worth it.

Not only are you getting a brilliant Singleplayer experience, but you are getting a title that's giving you YEARS of online and LAN enjoyment, R500 is smallchange then......
 
Im sorry thats too close to console pricing for my taste. Ill put it on my xmas list but im seriously not paying R500 for a standard edition PC game. No ways. Too many other titles coming out the same time.

True, but what do you get with it? Or is it just a disc and manual?

I see no reason why barebone PC games should take a jump to console pricing... It upsets my happy little word.

Look, don't take me wrong, its a hefty hike for a PC game, and yes it's the normal vanilla version, but yeah, for a title to give me that much enjoyment, for US to get FREE DLC where the console players have to pay R60 per DLC pack, and again as stated above, the timespan I will be playing this game, makes it worth it.

I am buying ARMAII this weekend, setting me back R400. COD World at War set me back R400 in April.....
 
There's no way I would pay R500 for the standard edition of a pc game. Seems with activision new policies that starcraft 2 will be a budget buy. Was never going to get mw2. Seems activision is trying really hard to replace EA is the evil empire.

If you get "free" DLC, and you love it, then I suppose it's worth it. I bought The Last Remnant for R500 when it was first released. If you love something enough, you buy it... It's just how it works. But the pricing is ridiculous should it ever become mainstream :p
 
All this is, is Activision/Blizzard seeing a nice little spot to make billions. They know there are alot of addicts like Mappy out there who will fork out enormous amounts of money for the game. Its a gr8 game and yes the MP is awesome but its not worth R500. No pc game is.

I half-agree.

I can't help but feel as though they're begging for their IP to be pirated at those prices. They're going to lose a lot of money from curious noob buyers which they assume they'll rake in from their fanbase.

In that context it's not only grossly unfair to would-be buyers, but it's a sick joke to their fanbase...

Unfortunately that's true.

It could Cost R1500 for the standard edition and I would still get it.

Damn Additive games are addictive!


@LycanThrope. It's the same with CODWAW, all the DLC map packs are Free on PC but the 360 and PS3 community had to fork out roughly R60-R80 for every one.

MW gonna be the same, PC users are getting them free, and by the sounds of it we are going to get 5+. SO on average the console users are going to fork out rougly R800-R1000 for the game in total, if not more!
 
See, again, if they charge that much for DLC, and the DLC is free on PC, then it's a bargain. Buuuuuut, that price is intimidating :p
 
There it goes from my buying schedule ....... disgusting a price like that. People need to start boycotting these prices because the more people they have defending the price, the more it becomes the norm.

Resident Evil5 (yes I still don't have it but it's on my list)

Modern Warfare 2
Luckily (and unluckily MW2 wise) I am going away to my parents for 2 weeks in December, gives me enough time to plough through most of the above. Risen I will tackle weeknights though.
 
Just a shame take two won't accept my preorder with the price still 350 :(

And for this much they better be supporting this game much more than they did with cod4.Plus hope there is a better clan support system.
 
R500 for a PC title??? No thanks, there are other games I can keep myself busy with. It's the principle of the matter. If we all cave on this type of pricing then they will just continue to screw the consumer this way. Just say no.
 
Thats quite a bit... damn. PC game price hikes, the reviews and screen shots better impress me otherwise I might not be so quick to buy it.
