Well I play Metro 2033 on high settings with with dx11 on 1280x1024. Graphically that game is amazing!!
The older games like Far cry 2 I play full graphics at 1680x1050 No lag whatsoever.
NFS Shift same story
Modern Warfare 2 Same story.

Once I get my new cooler i will up the i3 to over 4 ghz and then check it again.
But for a low budget cpu its epic, obviously the rest of the setup has to be pretty good to achieve what I have.
 
Which type, AMD or Intel? Also I love Raidmax's case, I got a Coolermaster Soprono last year and it was just not the same as my Sagitta :-(
 
Flip this is awesome Joker... this one i can actually afford and it doesn cost more than my car.... :D
 
great post, i like the case a lot and the price for the gfx card is not bad....

....maybe i should upgrade some components next month
 
how long you guys think the i3 in this reg or the i5 750 I got would take before its dated.. i.e cannot put the latest graphics card in there to make it perform with the top notch games?

What happened with my previous setup.. Intel Pentium 4 3Ghz LGA 775 Single Core + GeForce GTS250

Couldn't run Wow WoTLK without dipping into the teens fps. CPU just got owned in the face.

How long does the average CPU last these days? 3-4 years?
 
Yeah I just bought a rig similar to that, but needed to upgrade my monitor as well. But all in all a huge upgrade from the one I had. Now, only to get it working...

The i5 is not out date, would be able to handle any graphics card, I assume. One lovely chip that.
 
I went on saturday to the Esquire Bday sale and picked myself up an i3 540 and a P7P55D Deluxe. What an amazing setup!

wow is a very cpu intensive game so im guessing that's why that old cpu got raped, also a big bottleneck with that cpu and gfx card mate.

The i3 and i5 are here to stay and im guessing they'll be around for awhile. I reckon the i5 will outlast the i3 though.
 
The i5 is an awesome chip, in my opinion. Just got one for myself and goes like a bomb. Nice and stable, fast, well priced, overclock-able. Its very similar to the i7 860.
 
I am loving my i3 and i have thrown everything at it and it just keeps coming back for more.

It must be said..I want to upgrade to the i5 750 just because its a true quad core. so if any of you guys want an i3 let me know:)
