LTE Outdoor Antenna

Wonder if someone could point me in the correct direction:

I am looking for an outdoor antenna for my 4G router. It is a Huawei B593.

From my experience, I will need two antenna's to get proper MIMO performance. I can use two omni directional antennas and I do believe you you get integrated antenna's nowadays as well.

My signal just went to shreds all of a sudden indoors.

I figured that it may be a bit more flexible having the two omni's, but it might be easier and less work just mounting an integrated antenna on a pole.

Any recommendations? I am not even sure where to shop for one - been out of the loop for a while.

I also had a thread going there at some point over there.

You can go with:

There may be even more now. I was looking for something about a year or so ago but went with a WISP instead.

Thanks - I appreciate. I believe you are not staying too far from me - mind sharing the WISP you are at? It will be awesome if they have coverage in my area.
I have phoned many without much joy.

I'm with BitCo but they aren't accepting any new home users.

Good luck!

Priorities first - got myself a second mobile package with Afrihost as it gets expensive topping up. Now that that is handled, onward to getting better signal.

I struggled with a decision but decided to get the Poynting LTE XPOL-A0001 OMNI LTE antenna. I have ordered it today and should be arriving on Thursday.

It is a 2.5dBi gain antenna (Will probably average 2.0dBi) vs the 11dBi for the XPOL-A0002.
The A0001 can be window, wall or pole mounted and I am not convinced that the A0002 will give me better signal strength and the A0001 is cost effective.

Hope I am right. :-) Here is a picture:

Will let you know how it goes once I receive it.

I share your curiosity - just didn't want to risk it. Not always sure if these things are designed for SA's brick and mortar homes. Perhaps someone here have tried it before?

If so. Please do tell.

Just an update:

This is the actual antenna received. It feels a bit cheap in my opinion.

This is my signal with the two indoor antenna's that came with it.

I stuck it to various positions on windows close by and turned inch by inch while pointing in the general direction of the tower. It basically has a plastic nut that you can loosen and then you lift the antenna out of the bracket, turn it and seat it back in the bracket.

Not much difference indoors.

Taking the antenna outdoors - there is a sweet spot where I can get 4 bars.

I have got two poles mounted already and both are badly positioned for pointing this antenna to the tower. Got trees and a double story house in my way. Not much in the mood for a third pole.

Needless to say - I have to extend the two cables, the antenna will need to be outside for it to make a difference. Have to plan a bit and purchase then what I need to finish the job. Not sure when this will happen.
