LulzSec claims hacking rampage has come to an end

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should... Peter Parker's Uncle Ben once said "With great power, must also come great responsibility"

This is interesting. Personally I think the heat has gotten a trifle much and now they need to take a break. With all the things they did, some of which I agree with in principle if not method, I feel that individuals with this kind of talent - yes, what they can achieve is due to dedication, practice and talent - they should use it better.

Internet security is a budding market and with these skills they can make inroads in this field.

Ah well. To each his own I guess.

Mommy came into the basement and gave out a spanking ?

I rate someone got busted (y'know ... the wrong guy and all) and they were starting to feel the heat. And the guy who was posting their details on his site may have been on to something after all.

Well ... as long as they disappear, I don't care - this whole hacking saga was getting way out of hand.

These so-called crusaders for justice blah blah blah are simply now cutting and running because they are scared. I suspect they realised the authorities are getting close and decided to disappear while they can. Chicken sh!ts. Someone who truly believes in a cause is not afraid to suffer the consequences if he or she is caught and does not hide behind internet anonymity. Look at groups like Greenpeace. They get locked up for some of the stunts they pull to prevent destruction of earth. Look at terrorist groups. Look at religion. All these people have beliefs and causes, right or wrong, legal or illegal and they protest and do what they do and don't hide behind masks.

Taking a break? Which is either postponing it indefinitely or giving up all together. The "wrong guy" must've been of some importance then. The denial of association with the "wrong guy" may have thrown some people, but after reading this article, I think he really knew a lot about them. What did they expect after hacking major corporations/forums? Just walk away and that's it?

As mentioned by Orihalcon, they are will be superstars in the Internet Security job market after this, purely on the basis that they hacked some high profile companies and the publicity attached to it. "I am the guy who caused PSN to go down". "You've got the job". But before that can happen, there will be some explaining to do and/or criminal prosecution, if the companies that were harmed go that far (which I am sure will be the case, especially Sony).

This fiasco will again pop up in the near future, keep your eyes on the news threads.

Speaking of hackers getting nice jobs, looks like Geohot's working for Facebook now
