Luma Arcade closes Joburg setup

Their focus for the past few years has been in developing mobile games - The Harvest for Windows Phone was actually hugely successful, and Bladeslinger is one of the more anticipated iOS games. We did a feature on it last year.

In any event, any South African game developer with an international presence is a good thing, so this is bad news either way. I know a few guys working at Luma, and I know they'll definitely be affected - even if they're in no position to say how.
 
I played The Harvest that they made for WP7. It was such a pretty game that at last year's Microsoft Devdays they showed a video of the game without saying what it's about. We all thought it was a PC game and then they showed it was actually running on WP7.

Impressive stuff! It's sad that the Joburg branch is shutting down.
