MalicE was kind enough to send me an invite, but I haven't been able to play it yet. When I tried it last night I couldn't connect to their servers.
 
I registered for the beta but haven't received anything yet. I also haven't played original game yet. Will hopefully get to try it out during the coming holidays.

Nope soz never played it, I was big on Dota 1 but a lack of internet and my work laptop not being up to standard for dota 2 has kept me away from pc games, I play my xbox though and find it more fun as I like to play with my roommate or other buddies, then we play NBA Jam or Fifa, when I have the time I play SP games.

I definitely wouldn't describe Wizard Wars as a Dota clone - more like a pvp arena where you capture points. You don't have to level up, lane or buy items. The games last less than 10 min. It's quite fun, and there's a certain amount of skill involved as you learn which spell combo's are best to use in different situations.

At the moment with the game still in pre-alpha you end up waiting a fair bit for a game and with the games being so short it feels like you spend more time waiting than actually playing - obviously this will change when there are more players.
