When will the factories get into order so that we can get better prices?
A lot of HDD makers like Samsung, Hitachi are moving toward SSD or left the industry. Not much research is going into making
HDD cheaper. For example Samsung's HDD business was acquired by Seagate, Hitachi to Western Digital.
There are only 3 prominent business that used to be over 200 at one time so the price I see for the foreseeable future is that
2 TB would stay around current prices - no matter how the factories recover or not.
Less competition (seem to be a market monopoly right now between the 3) and the spike in demand after the flood gave more pricing control to the HDD manufacturers so the only way for the
price of HDD to be reduced would probably by the advance of technology esp. as SSD reached that 1$ per gb it can only fall further.
