Agang SA leader Mamphela Ramphele's proposal to retain her position while being DA presidential candidate was nonsensical, DA leader Helen Zille said on Monday.

"I said (to her) 'that can't happen... It's electoral nonsense'," she told reporters in Johannesburg.

"It is unconstitutional... And it would entirely confuse our voters."

Their partnership sounded really promising last week when it was announced, but following all this embarrassing confusion I'm glad Ramphele is out.
