Manually adding servers for BFBC2

For those of you not at the SGS forums I found an awesome post for adding the server info to your favorites manually.

Link to original post.

Use Notepad to open:

Vista/Win7
C:\Users\%YOURUSER%\Documents\BFBC2\GameSettings.ini

XP
C:\Documents and Settings\%YOURUSER%\My Documents\BFBC2\GameSettings.ini

This list may LOOK funky with all this extra mumbo Jumbo, but we've tested it and it IS required(each server has some random string of numbers n letters associated with it):

Scroll down the Gamesettings.ini and find
"FavoriteGames="
Now replace the whole line with:

FavoriteGames=3758396037,bb092dd1-3639-4707-9cbf-8e599b1f3302,-= SGS BFBC2 CONQUEST I Server =-;310275289,26da128a-ea2f-4746-8975-e87f8aeda6f0,iGame Hokum;4030406588,27f205a0-083e-411f-8627-8bd3ce3a6730,iGame Longbow;3417878619,7ff92b35-9dd0-4087-b2fa-868d3402c2a4,iGame Hornet;3561778166,ed1a5ffc-97d0-4bdd-ae1a-d636149e5aa7,iGame Fulcrum;3043094619,f97329cf-16bc-4ede-a9ca-a578831b7298,-= SGS BFBC2 SQUAD:RUSH Server =-;1748390822,9c88aebf-d82b-4ddc-abf6-952b9d2eaadc,-= SGS BFBC2 SQUAD:DEATHMATCH Server =-;543711440,717312ea-7e6d-402a-86e1-081d923b5f81,-= SGS BFBC2 RUSH HARDCORE Server =-;629143716,8c4a0680-efaa-48dc-aedf-49992c627c56,-= SGS BFBC2 CONQUEST HARDCORE Server =-;

This will add all the SGS and iGame servers to your favorites list. Which is a bit faster to update than the entire worlds servers. :rolleyes:

EDIT:

Urgh!!! Stupid smilies showing when the not needed. Don't copy and paste with the smilies in. Rather click on my quote post button and then copy and paste.

So once you've added the servers manually will you be able to play on local cap

No, this is only to add the local servers to your favorites menu. You still need to log in using int bandwidth. You'll only use local bandwidth to play the local servers, so if you have route sentry running it'll split it up nicely between int and local.

How do you do that.

Yeah thank you Toxin, in the other thread you also updated us and due to this I was at least able to play a few games.

\o/ to you!

is there a way to do this for cod4?

Not sure if there's a config file you can edit like in BC2 but the best way I found was to add all the servers ip addresses in the favourites menu.

Just print/write all the server IPs. Then select favorites and click on add IP. Do this for all the IPs you've got. That's how I did it when I was still playing.

damn was hoping there was a text file I could edit, thanks

Could the OP please change the
tags to
Code:
 tags, I think that would remove the smilies.

Also, not sure what the big issue is here, when you go into the server browser, just cancel the initial full search, then type either iGame or SGS.

Thanks!

PS. The original thread seems to have been moved/deleted from the SGS forums.
