Mass Effect 2 - May Contain Spoilers

ahh the Mako. i dunno wasn't too bad for me, except if a thresher maw pops up and insta gibs you

Its official, ME2 has permadeath. Yep your read it right. One of the possible endings of Mass Effect 2 sees comander shepard die permanantly. This means, if this ending is achieved, he will not appear in mass effect 3.

In other news the gun system has been revamped and you now have to eject and replace your heat sinks, thus the ammo counter.

Im keen to see the dismemberment, as from video's ive seen the synthetic enemies at least can loose limbs and have their heads blown off. Should this be true for the organic enemies also, its going to be fun shooting people's feet out from under them or nut-shotting them. :D

Hmm...

sounds like i'll be keeping hordes of saves...

as i want a proper ending...

also did you see the LMG (light machine gun) in the one vid? DO WANT!

Im very keen to try all these new weapons. Which is why im glad one of my characters is a soldier, this way i get to play with all the new toys.

Also you wont be able to change load outs on the fly, only at lockers located in the ship somewhere.... now that is a tough one. Especially with 19 differnt types of weapons. I want that nuke launcher.

Man, I don't have Mass Effect anymore and since my reformat I don't have my saves either. Would it be worth going to buy again so I can use my ME1 save?

Can someone explain the ME1 / ME2 save correlation to me please? i.e. what mass effect it has on the sequel...

Choices made in the first game, killer or sparing wrex, saving or not saving the council, saving ashley. Did you kill the colonists on faros or use those special grenades. All that will have an effect. Thus each player made differnt choices so each play through will be a little differnt. Think butter fly effect. According to Bioware even small choices could have major implications.

So I should really play #1 ? Which platform?

Keep in mind I played KOTOR2 before I played KOTOR1 ... was kinda strange, but made sense...

Well KOTOR's saves didn't carry over, the story continued but you part in it ment little. In ME2 however disisions made in one will affect your game. There is even the posibility of perma death at the end of 2 in which the player wont be able to play Commander Shephard in 3. So yes you should def play it. Im partial to the Xbox version but u can get the pc version cheap cheap also. I know Grimspoon got hit xbox copy for R300 or so. Plus its an awesome game to boot anyways. takes about 24 - 25 hours to run through the game.

PC version has the better graphics and didn't have the slow elevator loads that the xbox 360 had. Controls depends what you prefer mouse and k/b or controller, personally I find rpg's better with the mouse and k/b. Either version is good. This might matter for you or not but be aware with me 2 for xbox 360 you will have to switch between two disc while the pc will play with one disc and only use the second when installing. Again down to personal choice, should really matter but some people hate switching discs.

Both versions are great.

Stefan didn't the PC version have some god aweful DRM? I prefer the xbox version, but to each his own. Same with dragon age, i prefer the pc version while other prefer the xbox or ps3 version.

yeah the pc version of ME 1 does have DRM, but there is a install revoke tool available. so install limit issue not withstanding hey. if you buy on steam though. no drm. except steam itself :p

Ill stick with my xbox version. I dont mind Disc swaps and Bioware has already said it will be at a natural place. Not some weird random time.

the pc version of ME 2 won't have drm, except disc in drive. it's install with both discs, then use disc 1 and only disc 1 to play with.
