Apparently the issue can spread outside the game, with a few players reporting entire hard disk corruption.

I think that line right there will scare quite a few people off, myself included.

Thats the problem Rust some users are complaining of Hard Drive corruption.....in other words ALL your stuff is gone / corrupted

I was lucky, all I got was a corrupted save. I wasn't even that far in (About 6hrs or so).
