mass effect 3 will arrive later than expected, bioware has announced. A nebulous new release date is to be found somewhere in "the first three months of 2012."

don't worry, there's some relief to be found in this news. When we last consulted the office's crystal ball and requested a peek at our prestigious game of the year 2011 award ceremonies, we were greeted by a mortifying battlefield littered with game critics, internet commenters, n7 hoodies and ... cake. Perhaps this is for the best.

GOTY 2012 then? :D

New fashion in video games? Delay for a hopefully better game?
 
I'm assuming this is due to a lesson learned from DA2's rushed development. If MA3 is anywhere near as cookie cutter as DA2 I will not buy it, plain and simple. I welcome this delay, it's actually very good news.
 
What if Mass Effect 3 and Diablo 2 are released at the same time? I wouldn't know which one to play. Oh man, I hope they don't release at the same time.

This is good! I wasn't expecting this until even late next year. If it came out this year it would've been rushed like s@#t!

That's an easy one! Diablo 2 has been released a loooong time ago :P Haha! :D

But seriously, D3 won't be coming out until late 2012 or 2013.
 
Ya, I'm all for Bioware taking their time on the next Mass Effect. It's supposedly the grand finale so the more polished and epic they make it, the better (even if it means more time in production)
 
I think Starcraft II showed how important putting time into a title can pay off hugely. As mentioned, I would rather they didn't rush this like the steaming pile that is DA2.
 
They probably saw what a cock up DA2 was and decided to put in a little more effort for ME3. All in all good news.

Haha you got me on that one! :D I've got a feeling that we'll see Diablo 3 early next year. Or at least I hope so. Next year is going to be an awesome gaming year.

like i said over on PHforums, this atleast gives me chance to save up for the uber collectors edition.

although if they put in a mini-reaper model, instant non purchase on the ce. will just get the le or whatever smaller edition then

Then we have a serious problem :eek:

More serious than end of the world as this would mean the fabric of time has somehow managed to split by going into the future and back in time at same time :eek:

Dire times it will be :eek:
 
Rather delay and have a solid product than rush it out the doors.

Topping ME2 is going to be rough, and Bioware know it.

lol I should really go edit that post. :D

Maybe Diablo III will be such a remake of Diablo II that they will decide to just call it Diablo II again. :p Or Mass Effect 3 will be so good that when we play Diablo III it will feel as old as Diablo II. :D
