Much write, very gaming
Mass Effect 3 players want a new game ending
Petition BioWare to build in a new ending
Petition BioWare to build in a new ending
Sorry can't read that either, not going to spoil the ending for myself, but I gotta say those people are entitled little spoiled brats. Who are they to demand anything?
I have finished the game, and I can understand the negative feedback. While I agree, the Mass Effect universe isn't a tale of happy rainbows and unicorns farting sugar - it's a tale of tough choices with consequences that stretch pretty far ahead.
The game deals with that concept excellently...
I won't say anything more as to why, I feel, the backlash is deserved. But I think you'll understand a bit more when you actually hit the point yourself. For me, it's not about a difficult ending, or one that doesn't end happily for the entire universe - it's about keeping to the concept of taking my choices into account.
You'll see. Maybe you'll be fine with it, but I certainly wasn't.

Movies next.
The amount of self-entitlement inherent in this whole movement stuns me. When did the gaming community drop to this level?
Wait ... nevermind ... don't answer that.
If you want your own ending, read a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book.
Bioware should tell these whiny, self-entitled brats to shove it.
I haven't yet, so no bitching from me.
However, even if I'm horribly disappointed by it, I'll just eject the disc, uninstall the game, and get on with my life. I see absolutely no reason to harass a developer because my unreasonable standards weren't met.
Just a question: has anyone here -actually- finished it?
Agreed - trying to get your way by pestering the developers isn't my idea of time well spent. Nor do I expect it to yield any fruit.
But I totally understand the feeling behind it.

Nope, but I feel thats beyond the point. the point being the act of people actually demanding a new ending to a story.
Regardless if its a good/bad ending. We made choices in KOTOR and while we got a good/bad ending it didn't change the over all story. The player didn't suddenly stop being Revan or whatever. Its like that in every RPG, you make choices and while it changes aspects of the narrative it never changes the out come of the ending completely. The amount of variables to make that even feasible, especially for a game with so many meaningful decisions its mind boggling.
That's the particular point I think most of us took issue with. Whether we've actually played the game or not is entirely irrelevant. Maybe we'll also be pissed when we get to the end. But demanding a new ending? Do they have any concept of how much work would have to go into that?
And given the fact that Bioware is a business, and not a charity, someone's going to have to pay for it.
