Mass Effect 3 officially has multiplayer

Quite what sort of multiplayer it is going to be remains unknown for the moment, although rumour has it that it’s some kind of standalone mode, and not a co-op campaign experience.

Which does seem like a bit of a missed opportunity to have your friends play as Ewoks, but whatever.

Ewoks? :D Elcor, I think, are the Mass Effect equivalent :p

I have to agree though. I don't see much point to multiplayer in what is a story-driven RPG. Co-op would've been a better choice to integrate.

Feels like a pretty stupid decision to me, not to mention a royal waste of resources and time that could've been better spent on the actual single-player campaign. But whatever, let's see how it turns out.
 
I predict fail for this unless bioware can find a decent concept like Ubisoft did with AC or Id with Rage.
 
This sounds exciting, but I don't really know if I'm excited by this. Hopefully Bioware don't stuff it up!
 
I forsee Co-op like elements. But could prove interesting if they can bring something new to the table, which is highly unlikely, but still plausible. PLEASE DON'T DISSAPPOINT US!
 
"Official" must mean something different these days. A third party magazine cover is not an official confirmation.

It may be confirmation, in your eyes, further proof maybe, just about official but it's NOT an official confirmation. Meh

Valid point. Will still give the MP a miss probs :-P But SP will still remain pretty awesome. I hope. 1 and 2 haven't disappointed.
 
I doubt multiplayer will diminish the single player in any way, ME3 should still be an awesome game.

Lol I meant I'm not really going to play the MP. Not a huge fan of MP in general, unless it's quick violent and a lot of people are available, like COD and Battelfield. But, if they do MP it will probs be co-op and I doubt I'll get the game when my other friends get the game. I have a tendency to wait a month or 2 before getting games.
 
It could work in a deathmatch sort of way with squad vs squad. For example, my uniquely customised Shepherd, Tali and Grunt versus your Shepherd, Garrus and Legion. You only get to control Shepherd and issue commands to your squad, just like in the single player.
 
I wonder how the decisions will carry over to the coop or would you start a vanila play trough.

Since I bet you most people don't pick the same thing all the time. I am so glad jack died but other people would rather see a other character die and welll that will affect the game story. But seriously I would really want to see whats up with the Rachni.
 
Well this sucks... although I suppose it is to be expected. Some idiot from EA (they're all idiots at EA), said a while ago that the days of single player games are history.
 
Why does it suck? You have 2 squad mates anyway, so why can't they just be human controlled?
