Mass Effect 3 reversible box art has a feminine touch

FemShep's voice work by Jennifer Hale is widely considered of higher quality than regular Shep. And she is generally more popular than regular shep which is why we now have a default FemShep, something we didn't have for ME1 or ME2. Feminists everywhere rejoice.

The voice acting for both genders seems fine to me, I don't get why everyone says the FemShep's voice is better. Whatever.
The reversible box art is a clever idea though, they should do the same with the other two games.

The complexity of the supporting cast is matched by the amazing ability to create the main character – something only possible within a video game. I can't very well rewatch all of Star Trek: The Next Generation with a female Picard of Middle Eastern descent who grew up on a space station. Mass Effect gives me that option with Shepard. Given that Jennifer Hale's voicing of Commander Shepard is widely considered superior, one is actually inclined to cast the character who will lead galactic civilization in a fight for survival as a female. One can spend hours tweaking physical appearance (not mere a few options of "races") to get a character of any ethnicity and build. Oh, and sexuality is an option too. Shepard is yours to design.

This is only an extract of a very lengthy article. The reason it is why this, having a FemShep not only in game but on the cover, is a big deal is because it means the medium (gaming) is slowly opening its self up to diversity. Your character can , but doesn't have to, tick all the classic stereotypical boxes for being a protagonist (White, Male, Hetrosexual, etc). It may not seem like much but trust me it's a big deal.

Bleh, never tried playing as FemShep, as I only use the presets. The default Male Shepard just fits the role so well. It doesn't help that he's rather attractive either.

Still, glad to see EA is doing something to give voice to female characters as well. And for once it's not a female character in a sexy, sexist pose.

My main Shep is FemShep - though of my own design; she's not as pin-up as the 'official' FemShep. I'd totally marry her.

But dam I jumped for joy when they listned to our tweets and on the social site that we want a female shepard. Graal tnx goodness for character creator since I tottaly hated the default guy he just did not fit into the game for me.
Yeah same exept the marry part :D
