Mass Effect 3 Thread

I actually really enjoyed the new endings, and completely agree that this is what BioWare should have gone with in the first place. Having seen the original endings and now the new ones has left the office divided - but I'm on the side of "Much better, thanks BioWare."

I still maintain that the original endings were so vague that BioWare really could have done anything and gone anywhere with it - but I think they found a decent enough middle-ground.

From arguments flying around the office, I can see why some people are going to hate this, though. But hey, everyone was personally invested in a different away. My expectations have been adequately met.

While it filled in much of what happens AFTER it still doesn't explain jack all about how you actually GOT to the end and the entire series of events that made fkall sense.

Downloaded the patch. Will try it out tomorrow on my game that I stopped just before the Cerberus mission. After that, I'll re-evaluate if the game is worth another playthrough or revisiting my first playthrough.

Ok, I've been through most of the endings now. (Open minded and everything)

It is not bad I suppose. I realise that my main objections were that my choices in the games didn't shape my final ending like the bastards over at Bioware said it would... but I'm ok with this. Actually, had that not been my expectations, I would have considered this ending as great even.
At this stage however, I'm not really bothered anymore... Either because I've accepted that we're not getting what was promised or simply because I don't care anymore (probably cause they screwed the game up for me the first time round). Well done to Bioware though for taking the time to at least try and address the user feedback. Other than CDProjectRed, I'm not sure who else would have gone through this trouble to keep their clients happy.

I also agree with other people that this should probably have been in the original game to start with... Although I think there would still have been a lot of outcry with regards to the endings (due to the whole choice shaping the ending thing), it would probably have been less extreme.
Hopefully they've learnt from this experience that false advertising just pisses people off.

I haven't gotten Extended Cut yet, but I must say, it's got people (on few forums) talking and debating but on a more lighter note, especially since the fourth "Refusal" ending was included... I'm very keen to try EC (Hopefully tomorrow:D)

People are just over it and have mostly said all they cared to say.

Why the endings sucked

Started playing from the start again and forgot how many long cut scenes there where. SO looking forward to the extended ending to see if its finally what we wanted.

I must say though, as brilliant as all the endings are now, the Refusal ending, as good a concept as it was, felt like a missed opportunity...

I played Mass effect 2, missed the first one tho, is it worth buying ME3? even though I have heard bad things about the ending.

Many people, mostly PS3 players, also missed the first entry in the series. They had some motion-comic apparatus which allowed them to make choices that other players made in the first game. I would recommend the third game if you finished ME2 and liked it.
