Mass Effect 3's ending isn't that bad (MyGaming Column)

Nice Write up.

As am I. Thanks for the link, here's the announcement on the Mass Effect blog as well: http://blog.bioware.com/2012/04/05/mass-effect-3-extended-cut/

My piece was penned before the new press release went out.

It's interesting that they make it sound like the need for the quick release of the DLC was unanticipated and that they won't be releasing more ending DLC after this.

Is it a ruse? Are the trying to avoid spoiling the ending for people who haven't played yet? Or is it fair to adjust my hopes downwards on the back of this announcement?

Three months is a long time to wait for closure

Respect, Jan. It's refreshing to see someone taking up that stance for once without feeling the need to sling insults at whoever disliked the ending.

I've played right through Mass Effect 3 so I can say that the ending was as epic and mysterious and final as I expected. I can understand why people are upset about it, but I think they are overreacting and aren't properly understanding what happens at the end... At least, that's my opinion.

Besides, its Bioware's story. They can end it as they want, whether we like it or not.

Edit: Perhaps I've been conditioned to obscure endings due to having watched Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. Although that still takes the cake in the weirdness stakes, lol.

I didn't think the ending(s) were/was that bad.

However, this is a pretty validating view point:

I agree with the guy in the video above. I had mosltly the same feelings when I finished the game. So many unanswered questions.
It was a terrible ending in my opinion. I replayed the end game to see the 3 differant endings which is basically the same and was a real waste of time.

Still haven't got around to finishing the game yet, and I'm still trying my best to resist the urge to be tempted to find out before I play it as well :D I don't think the ending will change my perception/thoughts on the game though, an ending is an ending in my opinion - it's the writers' choice.
