Massive thanks Joker

Yup, I must also chime in and say that Joker is a awesome guy! He organized my awesome Obsidian 800D at a amazing price point and had it shipped to me here in Toti! (another South Coast boykie Beotek!)

Kudos to Joker!

Sorry mate, I will look into it for you.
I think you did pm me but I may have accidentally deleted it (I get tons of pm's a day).
Will drop you a pm tomorrow morning with what I can come up with for you.

No harm done. I know you're swamped with requests and some just fall between the cracks. I'd appreciate some insight though - we're moving into our new home next month and it's an ideal time for the Steambox to be deployed...

You have a pm and I have replied to your thread bud. Sorry again for the late response.

I have been reading how the Joker has helped some of you guys. I have been sitting on my current computer (Intel Core 2 Duo) since 12/12/2008 and should start to think about an upgrade or a new one.

I stay in Pretoria and say for instance I want a new PC, shall I ask the Joker to make and deliver it? I do not know if he will do such a thing. Otherwise my best bet is then maybe http://www.evetech.co.za/?

I'm in Pretoria and he helped me. Don't even think of using Evetech. Rebeltech will give you way better value for money.

Thank you very much for this information. Last stupid question! Where does he stay and will he use a courier to deliver it to my place in Pretoria, Sunnyside?

Hi :)

I usually send a courier but I do sometimes make an effort to personally deliver to the My gaming forum guys.
Feel free to drop me a pm any time.

Thanks Joker. I am 70 years old and as a pensioner I must think this whole thing carefully through. I always thought that Evetech is a bit expensive. I will give you a PM once I make up my mind. Thanks again.

Eugene thanks for your info. Your PC looks fantastic!

I send the Joker a PM. It seems he is a very busy man. To build 5-6 PC's a day is a hell of a job. I just hope he has time to read my PM. (LOL)

Yoh that is really some great services, And suppliers must stick to their warranty.
GTX670 to GTX770, lovely jump, Enjoy that sexy card

ok update time...

the 770 is now also giving issues...

Joker good system but PNY? screw them. literally all i'm doing is playing games. and the issues always manifest after playing battlefield 3 or 4.

is it overheating or something. I am at my wits end here and no idea what to do.

don't have the money to replace it. when I do i'm going AMD for a change and i'll be using tier 1 brands again. I've had enough of 2nd tier pricks whose stuff fuck out after as many months :(

It can happen to any brand bud, I just has 2x Gigabyte R9 290X cards give issues in the last 3 weeks.
The card should still be under warranty so you won't have to pay anything. Drop me a pm.

Been doing some digging in the web and alot of answers point to my cpu possibly running too hot apparently 70degrees is unstable central for zambezi based cpu's. At this point i'm willing to try anything.

Can anyone reccomend a good, easy to install preferably on the existing mountings after market cooler in the R500- R600 range?

Personally I have a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler for my 2500K, but it is massive and heavy, and costs about R750 or so (I see it costs R1000 now, it was cheaper when I bought it). It has awesome performance for an air cooler, but if you don't have a big case I would nog suggest it. Also if you move your pc a lot, I would nog suggest it, as the thing is very heavy and you just might damage your motherboard.

More in your price range, although I don't have experience with this cooler, is the CoolerMaster 212X. I've read good things about it and it only costs R420. It fits near all CPU socket types, so that should not be a problem.

Someone with a bit more experience can perhaps give some advice as well.

I just ordered mine from Rebeltech and a friend of mine is using the 212X on his overclocked FX 8120 @ 4.1GHz. Idle temps 25 degrees and full load prime 95 blend test 65 degrees max. You can literally install it in 20 mins without removing the motherboard from the case.
