Medal Of Honor SP Far From Crap

I really enjoyed the single campaign, why does every war fps need to be like mw2? People who say its crap just expected another mw clone. Except for the amount of bugs in this game (there are quite many) and the short campaign, it is really fun.

SP campaign is good fun. Experienced 2 bugs though which made me have to restart each respective mission.
bf played it and had no probs whatsoever. luck of the draw.
short and sweet sp mixed with a fun mp makes it a decent and fun game to play.

I originally thought the SP was pathetic, I couldn't even make it past the first mission I hated it so much. But when I did, I found it enjoyable. Better then BC2's SP.

Almost done with the SP campaign now, and I'll admit, it definitely kicks into gear later on. Last few missions have been nothing but awesome, too bad it starts out so slowly and takes forever to get to the meaty bits - which is almost this games fatal flaw.

Now if I can just get Tier 1 mode to work :/

On the whole it sounds like a load of crap. Way to many good games coming out to waste money on sub par games.

LoL D its nothing ground breaking - but still a fun shooter and the way that its been selling this weekend and from the feed back from other people who have played the single player I think that this game is going to be surprise hit.

Enjoyed it quite a bit the SP. Only gripe is it is way too short. Good story, they could just have done so much more with it. Oh well, roll on sequel.

Finished SP in four hours on normal. :wtf: The gunship mission was fun and designating targets throughout the SP was fun too. But for me the story line needed some help.

Also, it might just be me but I don't think being a transport chopper pilot is good for your health.

SPOILER of the last hour of gameplay (highlight text to read)
The last hour or so was a bit stupid for me. Let's go through this scenario. Four Navy Seals need evac. Two of them get on chopper, chopper gets hit. Chopper needs to limp off, leaving two Seals to fend for themselves. First two Seals who got away come back to rescue them, while being dropped off...... chopper gets hit. Chopper goes down. They get themselves captured. Military sends in a whole chopper full of soldiers to save Seal team, while being dropped off........chopper gets hit. Chopper goes down. WTF!! Am I watching Blackhawk Down reruns?

In the end four men die to save four men........... hmmmmmmm. And yes I know this is war and war is stupid, but I just couldn't get what they were trying to do/say/convey. It all seemed kinda pointless as stories go......

I thought it was pretty good, sure it could have been better but its not bad at all.Feels much more realistic than mw2 and battlefield.Finished the sp on pc and have now started on the xbox 360 sp.

Cheers

I think that was the whole point possibly. That this entire war is pointless. I may be wrong, but I suspect that they are trying to convey that the whole Afgan war against the Taliban is not getting anywhere and they want their soldiers home.

@ Toxin.

First off: epic use of font colors. hiding spoilers. Best post ever +100000
Second: I LOL'ed. Thank you for assuring my decision to steer clear of this game. What you wrote about the last hour of gameplay sounds like a bad sitcom or some "naked gun" movie.

Its sad coz I was really looking forward to a game that tackles the issues of war that films did, like Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down, Band of Brothers. All those conveyed some of the horrors/pointless life waisting of war that games just haven't done. What is even worse this game will now become the poster child for people who say gaming cant tell a mature story.

This( Realism Vs Playability (FunFactor)) is a blog piece I wrote some time ago in which I explore the issues with telling a mature war story in gaming.

The only game that managed to get close to doing that was Modern Warfare1. When the nuke goes off and you crawl out of the crashed chopper slowly dying of radiation poisening.

MoH never really gets there, you can see they were really trying tho.

Yeah MW1 def made me feel it, which is a part of why i was so disapointed in 2, it never gave me that same feeling of war is hell.
I figure like that Six Days in Fallujah the developers set out to really tell a story but lost the plot somewhere along the way. Also if we look at the amount of controvercy the naming of ur enemies in the Multiplayer its no wonder. How far could a developer really go to tell a truely horrific war story based at least in part on fact? With all the people crying woe developers are forced to pussy foot around the deep stuff and the result is another game in which war is depicted as fun or not really that bad, which might be exactly what the armed forces wants, kids who think war is a game to join up and fill the ranks of cannon fodder.

In the beginning I wasn't amped to get into the SP but as it was getting awesome it ended, the end was epic and sad. :( good game overall. I don't know why it was so hated though, it doesn't deserve the reviews it's been getting. Squeal please!
