Metacritic goes about removing Mass Effect 3 troll reviews

While I am glad to see something being done about the review bombing we must remember this is a slippery slope. In a time when censorship is on the tips of everybody's tongue thanks to things like SOPA actions like these could easily be viewed by those of a more paranoid disposition as censorship. Yes they only banned those that have no real reason, or that fit a strict profile but how long before Publishers start exacting pressure for people giving games like MW3 low scores to be banned just to save face with investors or whatever.


It is however very sad that this trend currently sweeping the internet may have dire consequence for not only free speech but for people trusting user reviews.
