Metal Gear Solid Rising confirmed for Xbox 360

Konami head honcho Hideo Kojima sensationally appeared on stage at the Microsoft E3 presser and announced Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

MGS 2’s Raiden will be the star this time. No Snake.

“The Metal Gear Solid series is one of the most highly acclaimed video game franchises of all time,” said Anthony Crouts, vice president of marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment.

“With Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the Xbox 360 community will finally get a chance to enjoy the action and excitement that this popular franchise is known to offer.”

So, all those rumours of a Metal Gear coming to Xbox 360 were true.

We knew it.

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., announced today that Metal Gear Solid: Rising is currently in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft - the first Metal Gear Solid game to launch on the Xbox 360. Raiden, one of the most popular characters in the Metal Gear Solid universe, will star in the all-new title from Hideo Kojima. Raiden first debuted in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty PlayStation2 computer entertainment system as a playable character and appeared as a non-playable cyborg in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system.

Well it's not MGS4 like the Xbox boys swore would come to the 360.
 
Whoot...Im not the biggest MG fan around but im stoked that its finally coming to x360.

maybe not the MGS4 but it's another Sony 'exclusive' lost ...... and that was something the Xbox fanboys swore was gonna happen :D

Thing is this was a lacklustre announcement and I was expecting it. The game isn't even being developed by Kojima but by the team who was behind MGS4. M$ has done it once again, instead of coming up with something new they decided to milk an existing IP. Disappointing showing from M$ this year, at least Alan Wake has a release timeframe so its not so much vaporware anymore.
 
Thing is they still got the MGS name on xbox now..that says a lot about Microsoft.
They know how to keep their customers happy!!
I have considered selling My ps3 but I would never sell my X360.
 
Exactly, it's a way of getting more people coming from the PS2 to the Xbox instead of the PS3 ....... PS3 peeps go on waaaaaaaay too much about exclusives, I just wanna play games, I don't give a toss if Timmy the neighbour is playing the same game on his PS3.
 
Yeah that would also be pretty cool..Although i think 3 and 4 would be damn easy if you controlled them with a keyboard and proper gaming mouse.

Eish. The 360 has far more exclusives available for it than the PS3 does. What wrong with adding another widely popular IP previously available only as a Sony exclusive to that list?

I have to say that the show could only have been disappointing if you don't own a 360 :p I for one am stoked about MS's announcements. That video of the woman interacting with the on-screen boy was so freaky.
 
So this is another exclusive for MS since its only being developed for the 360 ! PS3 got MGS4 as an exclusive, xbox 360 is getting this, then both consoles will hopefully get mgs 5 in the near future
 
Very possible, since they didn't say it's an Xbox exclusive. But one thing it isn't is a PS3 exclusive :p
