I'm with Dragonic here. I struggled through 8, but 8.1 is a delight to use. I've worked on 7 machines again, but prefer 8.1 now. I've mentioned before that the lack of a "Start"* menu doesn't bother me at all - I barely used it in 7. I find searching for programs / settings to be more efficient.
