Microsoft will charge you to use your own headset with Xbox One

i had already decided that the PS4 would be bought prior to the xbone. M$ is just confirming that my decision was the right one :-)

Same here. I have both last-gen consoles but Microsoft is making it nearly impossible to do that this gen.

my console allegiance appears to be cyclical. I was a hardcore PS2 fan (but i guess the fact that SA never really got exposed to XBOX is main reason for this).

but in previous gen, my XBOX was the king. PS3 hardly got touched. the current gen will see Sony return to reclaim its throne in my home :-) now if only this month with end with me winning a ps4 :-)
 
Surely Microsoft realize that some hardcore gamers would easily spend 2-3K on a flippen awesome headset... Now they must pay another R400.00 just to use it??? Give me a break...
 
I've lost all faith in MS.

When the Xbox One was revealed with all the online drama and kinect, I was pissed.

Eventually they removed all the DRM crap, I considered getting one.

Now they pull this stunt, unless there is a MUST play game on Xbox One then I'm doubtful that I will buy one at the moment.

I'm sure they'll get so many people who will still buy the Xbox or already have without realizing this that it doesn't matter that they lose the sane individuals who realize this is a rip-off. Most consumers aren't so smart :p

Next Gen especially Xbox One is for people with lots and lots of money. You cannot go into next gen if your a budget gamer.

Except PC :)
 
Yeah, heck, if it came down to costs, I would rather just build a PC for R10K instead of sukkeling with M$ and their rubbish. I still wouldn't do the whole PC over PS4 for the same price thing, just doesn't work out well, but extend that budget by R3 000, and you're talking a decent upgrade.

But PS4 still wins here.

That's the base of the Apple success. MS might be trying to do the same, they've just been going at it wrong. I'll stay a fan until the very end, but this is quite a knock.
 
Microsoft are trying to squeeze every last drop out of its consumers... Its disgusting...

It was never a contest for me but they make justifying a PS4 really easy...
 
I hate myself for saying this since I am a loyal Xbox/MS follower hoping that MS will redeem themselves.

But the guys at Sony knew what they were doing with the PS4. They knew their market, they knew what we as gamers want.

Many suspect that, I'm told the same for my love of EA. I still hold true that somehow, MS might just be trying to pull off an incredible multifunctional media device and these are just teething issues.

We don't suspect, we know. The more people let companies do what they want, the more they'll try to screw us over. There is no denying that.
