Micrsoft won't release games if they were released on PS3 first

That's quite dodgy of MS. Good thing I have a PS3 as well.

If a game is on both consoles, I tend to choose the xbox version, but if they don't release it on xbox just because it was on ps3 first, they're just losing that sale in my opinion

that dude be on papagaai slaai I tell you !

if i remember correctly virtua fighter 5 was released on the ps3 first and then almost a year later on the 360 so i dont know what the hell he's on about.

So if you release a game on PS3 first there's probably no way you can port or release it on XBOX 360 later?

The problem is that it's very different developing on PS3 than it is on xbox, so it's not a simple matter to just port a game across. The hardware is the biggest challenge with Sony using cell processors which immediately makes the task more complicated, so when devs release multiplatform games they often have teams for the specific platforms to ensure that the game performs adequately on all platforms.

Not particularly surprised by this.

Exclusivity has always been something that console manufacturers have used as major selling points. Think of something like Gears of War, as Marcus Fenix will never grace the PS3, so people who want to play the game will have to get an Xbox 360. They will continue to try get exclusivity in order to sell more of their own consoles.

Like matt said, luckily I have a PS3 to play the other stuff.

This is a bold move from Microsoft, but i doubt it will be that good a move. They just grow PS3 exlusive database and if not that, then selling narrowing thier game library.

Hmmm, yeah, lovely, as an XB user, I'm not so stoked with this.

It seems ridiculous to throw down the gauntlet like that, like some spoilt brat who needs to get their own way - or else.

/eyes PS...eyes wallet...eyes PS

Microsoft just wants to be the monopoly :/ Although I have an Xbox and everything I'm not too impressed with this insight from Microsoft

Hmmm... Microsoft says no to FREE testing and fixes, as well extra MONEY for their dying console?

Oh well!
Move along, nothing to see here!

Sounds like some context is missing here. Microsoft quite often releases games ported to XBox after they've already hit platinum/hit status on other consoles.
They've been getting wood forever already on the MGS issue...
