Yes i can some what help on that, but can't remember the link, what i remembered was durng that time i was there, only two maps were available.
What i can aswell say, check on the official website on the news section, they have a link there and that xmas map too....hoped i help ;-).....so you are still playing it, lol!!! i cant remember when last i did heehee....

Well I took a break from it and decided to pick it up and give it a shot again. Fell in love with the game all over again but I need more maps. Urgently... 12 or so maps just isn't cool enough
 
Hooray, just noticed on the official site that a list of upcoming patches are on its way.
1.3 will be coming middle of March and the rest will follow in about about 6 - 8 week intervals.
News on expansion will be on its way shortly. Hell Yeah!
 
I wish they would create a DOTA style game with Heroes of Might and Magic universe. That game would be awesome
 
In case anybody has wondered why there game hasn't updated to 1.3 its because 1.3 has been delayed till sometime this week. So hopefully today or tomorrow.
 
And it looks like the patch has been delayed again,
Official word puts it as unavoidable and will be out next week :(
 
Looks like more delays are expected.
(I am not too bothered because to me the game is fine since I don't play online it just needs an expansion and that would be great)

Hello Heroes,

as we stated there is a dedicated to the game team working very hard on the patch, so don't worry, it will be released once it passed all of the technical tests. Unfortunately, it is not coming in time unnounced previously, but still our intention to support the game remains untouched.
While it is not a mystery that a patch is tested before release, we can not underestimate the importance of every small correction as it can create a bigger bug if not developed/tested correctly. When we are talking about a game as complex with a content as rich as Heroes VI is, every small correction can potentially create a bigger trouble. That is what happened with the patch 1.3: it can't be released now as some network issues have been reported.

Ok so patch 1.3 went live last night. I haven't checked it out yet but with the patch news a some would say surprising bit of news pooped up.
Black Hole is no longer working on Heroes VI. Instead it has fallen to Limbic Entertainment. BH and Ubi parted ways in quite a bad way which so it seems is not rare with developers and Ubi.
Here is some stuff

Limbic’s team are experts on the Heroes’ system, so it's only a matter of getting up to speed on a different portion of the project."

Really didn't know about Black hole...wow..wonder how's the rest of Heroes 6 going to be like.

Honestly HOMM 3 is a good memory but its lack of features is beginning to show a lot. I think this series has really evolved into something very different with each game showing a lot of promise.
I think HOMM 5 is probably better in more ways then not and I think HOMM 6 has so much potential to really be something great. I like it but it needs more of everything, more units, more maps, more skills, higher level cap, more artifacts etc etc.

yes I did find it lacking with variety. Also wish they did not allow us to choose our skills. I preferred it to be random just made the game a lot more fun.

Yeah until you needed Expert Earth Magic to cast mass slow lol and you ended up getting something useless like Eagle Eye lol.
Which one did you find lacks variety, I mentioned 3 of them
I have been playing Heroes 2 over the past couple days. Heroes 3 really wasn't that different compared to number 2 in amount of changes / improvements that Heroes 1 - 2 or 3 - 4 or 4 - 5 or 5 - 6 had. Heroes 3 was the most un unique one there lol

You see I never played heroes 2. Heroes 3 was my first. I just preferred heroes 3. Just the music really was something. Heroes 6 music was really meh :(
