Miktar's Meanderings online!

Yes. The NAG forum is a much, much more strictly moderated forum than this one. We don't tolerate any sort of spammy or pointless posts at all, and users are quickly given infractions for them (something like the Thread Killer would not be allowed on the forum, for example). As such, the moderators do inevitably come under a lot of fire. I just got fed up with all that rubbish.

Oh ok i see... Well I guess every business has their different laws(if you could call it that) so ja but hey u cant argue with what has been implemented from the beginning

I got fed up with that too. Not to mention all the idiots that hang out on that forum. I did like some of them but there were far too many who rubbed me the wrong way. I still love my NAG magazine however. Can't wait to go and pick mine up a little later. :D

The NAG forum just didn't seem very new-user friendly - I think after my initial registration and reading through the threads a bit I just got the impression that things seemed a bit elitist and hostile. Sadly, I found the same type of attitude on the PCFormat forums - make an honest mistake and people are all over you.

I don't mind people getting nailed if they're being obtuse or just plain stupid, but a bit of leeway can be given.

I still post there occasionally, but all the people from the forum I actually like hang out on IRC, so I mostly chat with them there instead.

Yes, it is pretty hostile for newcomers. I guess the idea is that we simply weed out crap people, but I know it inevitably chases off cool people too.

Having said that, I do prefer the more strictly moderated environment over there. I think too many discussions on this forum are ruined by pointless posts that add absolutely nothing to the topic whatsoever. At least on the NAG forum, it's possible to have really epic discussions without people butting in with posts of the "lol rofl" variety.

Point is, u can't have reviewers who are mods too imo.
Too much power for one person and mods are supposed to be unbiased and unseen....

This doesn't make any sense. Also, Rusty and Tinman both write reviews and are mods on this forum - did you just shoot yourself in the foot there?

Why? Because u say it doesn't?

So if I run a website, i should be the CEO,secretary,IT person, mail man and cleaner.

That's a good laugh :)
Everyone should do there job, u can't have everyone doing everything. It's never worked and it never will.

I believe in democracy and everyone's opinions should be heard!
Not some facist communist regime, where the people in power opinions are the only ones that count :p

You're still not really making any sense, Gradius. Websites don't need secretaries, mailmen, or cleaners. You've also conveniently ignored the inconvenient example I cited of both Rusty and Tinman being moderators and writers on this site.

So I'm just going to assume this is nothing more than you disagreeing with me on principle, even though you don't actually have a good point.

I think I'm just going to go back to ignoring your posts.

no....
I already told you what what I thought, you are just conviently ignoring everyone else's opinion like usual.

Mods should only be mods.
Reviewers should only be reviewers.

My above mentioned example was to explain to you in 'layman' terms, that everyone has a specific duty in the a working enviroment.

[EDITED]
If you do not agree with my opinion(like usual). It's your opinion, everytime I post an opinion about something I write. I always get into trouble for something, it's stupid.it's flaming.i'm ignorant.
So i'm sorry ok.
I dont write as well as u do, I can't express my opinions as well as u do.
I'm not as good as you.
Happy?
