Minecraft Xbox 360 won't be a "straight port"

Will investigate this further. Heard that this is pretty cool, will look at a few gameplay videos of the PC version to get a better idea.
 
This got me to start playing Minecraft:


I'm just wondering if this will still be the Beta? How will updates work on the Xbox?
