I downloaded anime and it downloaded woth ten sets of mkv files ok lol. I needed a program to join the files. I had a blonde moment.

Yeah ... VLC is the best.
Havnt installed a codec pack in years.
VLC will play almost anything just as is.

I rather use KMplayer best interface and best handeling of subtitles so far. But vlc always there for anything KMplayer can't play. Also don't like the interface of VLC but the skins really help.

Neah, I'm a K-Lit fan. Never liked VLC interface etc. Personal choice is all. Both work well IMHO and you must decide what works for you.

I use the CCCP codec pack, comes with MPC as part of the package.

I've got VLC as a backup - but it doesn't render the subtitles as well as MPC does.

What issues have you seen ??? In what version ?

I can't remember what version, just general crashes, not playing video properly, its now my 3rd back up for ages now, so it may have improved,
but IMO: MPC (with k-light) > GOM Player > VLC

VLC 1.1.1 is out now.
Lots of improvements.
Why not give it a try?
